"Morgan, hone don't eat the sand!" I called looking up from where I was putting sunscreen on Teddy.
"Oh god! She's eating sand?!" Pepper asked rushing over to her daughter.
"Mama icky!" Teddy complained pointing to the sand under his feet
"You wanna put your shoes back on?" I offered and he nodded so I grabbed them out of the diaper bag.
"Mama I swim now?" Freddie asked
"I can take her." Bill offered standing next to Fluer who was holding Victorie
"Thank you." I smiled to him as Freddie happily waddle through the sand to her uncle
"I'm back!" Loki announced holding Morgan's birthday cake.
"Thank you for picking that up, I can't believe it wasn't ready this morning." Pepper smiled gesturing for him to put it on the large picnic table.
"Teddy don't you wanna go swimming?" Percy asked and he shook his head crawling into my lap.
"Mama it to loud." He mumbled waving his arms around, which is something he recently started doing whenever he felt overwhelmed. I looked at him confused since it was pretty quiet considering Tony rented the beach and we were the only one's here.
"Do your ears hurt again?" I asked and he nodded putting us head on my shoulder.
"James can you get his headphones out of the bag?" I asked and he nodded before handing me Teddy's noise canceling headphones
"Is he alright?" Neville asked worried
"The healers at St Mungo's say he has a sensory processing disorder. Certain sounds, textures, and things like that bother him." I explained and everyone nodded understanding
"Is he going grow out of it, or is it permanent?" Pepper asked
"We don't know yet, there's a possibility that he could grow out of it but we'll have to wait and see. They think it's a possibility of outgrowth since he didn't start showing signs until recently." I explained
"What exactly is it?" Blaise asked
"Sensory Processing Disorder in a generalized definition is when a persons brain can't synthesize multi-sensory information. In Teddy's case he has hypersensitivity which means his brain is over stimulated and certain things that might seem everyday for us can stress him out. For example sand and dirt feels itchy against his skin and while it seems quite to us, the combination of our voices, the birds and the waves makes his ears buzz." I explained and everyone nodded as they took in the new information.
"What can we do?" Dean asked
"I play it by ear most of the time. Sometimes things that bother him one day won't bother him the next. It's sort of a guessing game while we figure it out."
