Yoongi POV:
"Come on Yoongi-Hyung." I looked up to see a voice calling my name. Jungkook was standing a few meters away from me, his bag slung over his shoulder and an impatient expression on his face.
I waved a hand at him. "Calm down Jungkook-ah. The plane is not going to leave without us." Although I hated to be that person, I wasn't wrong. It was the nice thing about traveling on a private plane. Even though it did have a schedule, it wasn't going to take off with two members missing. Looking down at my watch, I rolled my eyes. The plane wasn't even scheduled to leave for another hour. "Go on ahead of me. I'm going to get some coffee."
Jungkook huffed but hurried down the private concourse towards the terminal. Seeing a small coffee shop, I trudged over, needing the caffeine after the last few days. We had performed in Hong Kong on Saturday night and Sunday night then a television appearance on Monday, followed by a radio interview and a second television appearance on Tuesday. Last night after the television appearance, we went back to the hotel and packed up our things to be ready to leave today. The vans picked us up at 8:00 this morning and I was exhausted. I had stayed up last night to continue working on a song, which I was now regretting.
When I approached the counter, an older woman greeted me. "An iced Americano please." The woman nodded and I handed over the last of my Hong Kong dollars. I always made sure to carry the currency of the country I was traveling in. Although most places took credit cards, I didn't want to risk my information being sold. As odd as it sounds, it happens. It's strange what people will do for money and even stranger what ARMY will pay for. I waited for just a few moments while the woman prepared my drink. She handed it over with a smile and I took it, thanking her and heading down the concourse.
When I arrived at the terminal, the members were just beginning to board the plane. I held up my drink and gave Jungkook a smug smile, which he ignored. I took my time boarding the plane, not really enthusiastic about the long flight to the United States. We would be in the US for the rest of February, March, April and most of May before a short promotional period for our new album then Europe in June. We were starting in San Francisco at the Levi Stadium then making our way across the country. ARMY in the US were fun people and even though they didn't understand it, they happily sang along to our songs, screamed our names and showed us their love and support. We had a few television appearances in the US as well and I was excited for some of those. I loved performing on the Jimmy Fallon show. We always had fun with him and he seemed torespect us.
We were also looking forward to the Grammys in late April. Although they usually took place in January, they had been pushed back because of construction at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. We had performed at the Staples Center before but this time we were performing at Hollywood Bowl since the construction wouldn't be finished until the first week of April. After winning two awards last year, we were excited to return this year, but this time with a live performance in front of the audience at the stadium. We were nominated again for Song of the Year and Album of the Year, along with Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. It was nice to finally get the recognition that we had worked so hard to receive.
It wasn't always this way for us. In summer of 2021, we had released two new songs that, although they were in English, rarely received any radio airplay, which was frustrating to say the least, but we still managed to top the charts for several weeks in a row thanks to our fan support. They streamed the songs and purchased them, making sure they stayed at the top of the charts. I honestly think ARMY was more upset by it then we were. It was the same thing that happened at the Grammy's earlier that year. They threatened to boycott the Grammy's when we lost, which was funny to us. There definitely is no loyalty like ARMY.
