Captains - Patrick Cripps

Chapter 10

12:15am Friday January 6th 2017

Jack and Leni were sitting at their dining table with Cassie on facetime and the game of life set out on the table.

Normally if they were to play a game Cassie would actually be there to flip the board and carry on like a porkchop but she was on her retreat so they settled for FaceTime before training. It was near the end of the game and Leni already had her car filled with kids and some taped underneath, (don't ask how), it was Leni's go and it was her last roll before the game would end.

She rolled finally finishing and coming 1st when she looked at the time realising that training for both her and Jack started in 45 minutes meaning they needed to get ready.

Cassie had just cracked it about not winning when Leni informed her that they both had to go for training to which Cass said he had to go swim with pigs anyway, thoroughly confusing Jack and Len but they decided not to question it knowing they would be more confused instead opting to just hang up.

They both started scrambling around the house in a hurry to get ready, Leni bolted to her room and starting packing her training bag and putting on her training uniform before doing her hair and putting her shoes on, once she was done she met Jack at the door both of them walking over to Jack's car to go. It was 12:30 when they got into the car and started driving away.

They arrived at the club at around 12:45 after stopping to get coffee, when they arrived there were only a few cars even though they weren't that early.

As they got out of the car Leni saw Bella run out of the club straight to her looking quite distressed, as she was running towards Leni, Leni got a bit panicked until Bella reached her

"Thank Fuck you're here, I'm literally dieing, Caleb and Charlie arrived 5 minutes ago and already make me want to cry!"

Bella was hugging her for dear life making Leni and Jack both laugh at her fear, "What've they done?" asked Jack, Bella turned to him

"Well I got here at 12:30 and I was just chilling in the Café on my phone drinking a coffee like normal and then they got here at about 12:35, they walked through the café just like normal people but then they walked over to me and sat in front of me so I just said hi, but then they both started popping confetti all over my head for no reason and then they just got up and left!" she said whilst shaking her head showing the confetti falling out.

Jack just started laughing which caused Bella to glare at him so he smiled right back at her. Bella grabbed Leni and pulled her into the club and into the girls locker room, when Leni waked into the locker room she headed to her locker whilst saying hi to everyone that was already there.

The locker system was based off your number Leni was number 1 like her cousin so she walked straight to the 1st locker in the room quickly putting her stuff away and getting a few things she needed. As she shut her locker she saw Katie Loynes arrive and walk to her locker which was next to Leni's

"Hey Katie" greeted Leni "Hey PB" said Katie with a smile, Leni had almost forgotten the nickname Damo had given her which made her laugh a little bit.

Leni walked over to the bench were all of the girls that were there so far which was pretty much everyone except Hayley Trevean and Bianca Jakobsson who normally come at the last minute because they both loved to sleep until about half an hour before training.

It was about 12:55 when the 2 girls arrived and put their stuff away, all of the girls walked out onto the oval but as she was walking out Leni realised that there was no music so she quickly ran to go put some music on.

Everyone else was on the oval when they randomly heard a playlist of 2000's party songs on. Some people started singing and dancing (the trio and Bella) whilst everyone else kept training and laughing, Leni ran back out and ran to the trio and Bella and joined them in dancing and singing. The coaches soon came out meaning they had to actually train but that didn't stop them from singing all the lyrics they knew.

Patty Cripps arrived at training fairly early that day he was there at about 12:15, when he arrived there was nobody else there so he put his stuff away and grabbed a footy before heading out to the oval.

He decided he was going to practice kicking and do some running and other forms of exercise before everybody arrived, he was running a few laps when he looked up to the café window seeing that some people and arrived and were chatting, as much as he wanted to go chat with his mates he was more focused on being in good shape for the pre-season and healthy to make him feel better about himself.

It was about 12:45 when he switched to some kicking practice he was practicing kicking from random positions as he saw his team sitting in the café, as the captain he felt like he should be there but he knew he needed to practice before they started practicing with the girls.

Deep down he knew that when the girls came out to practice with them Leni would stay on his mind and he would probably keep looking at her, he knew it wouldn't be long before someone caught onto his gazes but he hoped they wouldn't.

The coaches came out deciding to separate everyone so that the defenders could train together and focus on their main skills, the mids could focus on their main skills and for the forwards to focus on their main skills.

They were told they would do this for about half an hour so they all separated into their groups. In their groups the coaches paired them up them up, Bolts was mainly helping the forwards and Damo was mainly helping the defenders but they were both making sure that midfielders were training and doing what they were told to do.

Despite the fact that Leni played in either mid or defense she trained with the mids since that was her main position. The coaches startied pairing people up as she was standing in line Leni was thinking about who she would want to be partnered with when she heard "And finally we'll chuck our 2 captains together" said Bolton meaning she was paired with Patrick.

Both of them secretly were quite happy to be paired together and to get to know each other.

A/N 1159 words im so tired but i hope you guys liked this. also if i don't update when i say i will it's probably because reception is shit at my farm and it always drops out. i've also decided i'm gonna try and get skinny for summer but i hate exercising
