Chapter 41

6pm Tuesday February 28th 2017

Leni had cooled off a bit and decided to go back inside, she was just going to try and not talk to Jack quite yet she knew that she would have to talk to him eventually but they both needed a bit of space or else they'd start arguing again.

As she walked in she saw Cassie sitting talking with Jo, Her mum arguing with Steve, Nonna and Nonno looking fed up with Her mum and uncles arguement and Ben and Tom sitting on a couch chatting. Jack wasn't there meaning he was probably in his room, Leni went and sat with Cassie and Jo who were in a conversation about their work, as the two worked in a similar industry, Jo being in the modelling and TV section and Cassie in the fashion, the two always got along quite well.

The Silvagni-Torelle family were basically Cassie's family so she obviously got along with everyone, she had been coming to the family dinners since she and Leni were about 9 and she had been coming to Christmas and Easter type things since the two were 13. Everyone considered her part of the family.

Dinner was eventually called, Jack had joined everyone else about ten minutes prior, the two oldest cousins had been avoiding each other neither wanting to argue more. Dinner wasn't too bad everyone just talked and joked around as usual, there was slight tension between Jack and Leni but apart from that it was pretty good.

No one had brought up Leni and Patrick deciding it was probably best not too, Jack, Ben, Tom, Steve and Serge had found out when the oldest cousin stormed away that Jo, Lisa and Rita had known all along and weren't too bothered understanding why she had into told them well Jack was a bit annoyed but what else would you expect.

Leni was sitting with Ben and Tom who honestly didn't care that she was dating Patrick as long as she was happy and he didn't break her heart, they were a bit shocked but overall okay with it. Ben was filling her in on shit that had happened at his school as was Tom. The two hadn't talked to her in a little while as when they were over, well a lot happened.

Leni and Cassie were pretty much their older sisters they both loved them like they were and would go to them for things you would normally go to a sister before.

After about an hour of talking to her little cousins she left them to go talk to her Nonno and Steve, she hadn't really spoke to to them since she had arrived and said hello. She walked over to were the two were sitting and sat down next to them

"Hey Leno" Greeted her uncle pulling her into a headlock and ruffling her hair much to her dismay

"Hello" She responded finally getting out of his grip

"So new boyfriend" Steve stated with his eyebrows raised and a smirk planted on his face as Serge pulled her into a little hug

"Yes" She laughed nervously

"Does he treat you well?" Asked Serge keeping her in a hug

"Yes, very well in fact" She informed them with a smile forming in her face at the thought of him

"Well if he treats you well and you're happy then I'm happy" Serge stated as Steve nodded in agreement

"Okay that's good because I don't want you guys to hate me like Jack does" Leni mumbled

"He doesn't hate you, he just doesn't like the idea of one of his mates dating you probably because he thinks that he knows him better and what he will do. Jack will warm up to the idea of you dating eventually, he'll have to, but it might take a little while before it does. If he doesn't then Jo and I will talk to him" Steve informed her with a small slightly threatening laugh at the end part

"You sure?" Leni asked hopefully

"Yes, it might take awhile but he will trust me, I have 3 sisters and Jack thinks of you like a sister so I know this stuff" Steve laughed tapping his head to indicate his knowledge

"Yeah, we haven't seen Michelle or Danielle much recently" Leni mentioned

"Yeah they're both busy all the time" Serge sighed

"Ah we'll see them eventually" Steve chuckled before the three went off and talked to different people in Steve's case it was arguing with his sister, in Serge's it was to chat with Jack and whereas Leni instead went and sat in a reclining couch, her ankle had been feeling better but it was still quite sore and she needed to rest it so that she wouldn't cause more damage before the upcoming game.

At about 8:30 Leni and Cass were ready to call it a night both needing to be up early the next morning. Cassie had work whereas Leni had a very early training starting at 5 in the morning and going until 8, most of the girls on the team had other jobs so the majority of the time they had either early trainings or ones after about 4. They did have trainings during the day but they didn't have them as often.

Leni didn't have another job but she was an Instagram influencer, it had just kind of happened one day when she was in Uni, she had posted a photo and gotten attention and began posting more often which resulted in about 100k followers.

She tried to make consistent posts and things like that but with footy and her life in general it had been harder so she planned to respond to emails and potential partnerships tomorrow.

Leni quite liked that she had a platform in social media, she was able to use it to talk about important issues and focused a lot on Womens right and gender equality, she also focused on the issue of climate change and lived t show what went in in her life.

Leni hadn't been keeping up with posting consistently since she got on the team as it took up a lot of her time but she was planning to work a bit more on it and hopefully partner with some businesses and things like that.

When Leni was getting into her bed at Cassie's house her phone began to ring, she saw it was Patrick and picked up quickly, it was a facetime call so she would be able to see his face after the eventful night that she had just had.

"Hey Nora" Pat said smiling as he saw her face pop up on his screen

"Hi" She greeted happily with a smile press across her face

"How was your dinner?" Asked Pat with raised eyebrows

"Not too bad, Jack and I had a fairly big argument before dinner but after it was fine cause we just didn't really talk to each other" She informed him feeling slightly sad that Jack was still mad at her

"I'm sure he'll come around eventually, if he doesn't then I'm sure his mum or someone can talk some sense into him" Pat comforted her seeing the sad look on her face

"Yeah I hope so, Jo and Steve both offered to talk some sense into him" Leni chuckled

"Anyway, what are you doing tomorrow?" Asked Pat trying to change the topic to something better

"Ugh, we have training at 5 in the morning, it should be illegal and then I'll probably just work on some Instagram posts and stuff like that" She told him burying her head into her pillow as she thought about having to get up early in the morning

"I'm sure you'll be fine, if you aren't you can come to my place straight after training, we don't start until 2" Pat suggested

"I might have to take you up on that offer" Leni laughed

"Well I'd love it if you came over but if you're tired you can go home" Pat smiled

"Okay, I'm going to go to bed now, bye" Leni said with a small wave

"Goodnight Nora" Pat chuckled as she hung up
