Chapter 29

7:10pm Monday February 20th 2017

The 2 were getting onto the ferris wheel, it wasn't big but it was big enough you could see the park and beyond at the top which was perfect. Pat planned to admit his feelings for Leni about half way through, he was unsure how he was going to and was hoping he didn't just blurt it out awkwardly because that would not be good.

"Are you okay?" Asked Leni looking at Patrick seeing him in deep thought

"Yeah I'm fine, just thinking" He responded

"Well what are you thinking about?" She questioned turning to face him

"Just thinking about our first game" He answered, he wasn't lying because he had been thinking about that just not as much as he was thinking about Leni

"I'm sure you guys will do great, you're all great players and I think you all want to win" She spoke putting her hand on his shoulder making his cheeks heat up slightly

Leni had started to realise just how much she liked him through out the day and had started thinking maybe he felt similarly, the downside to her feelings is if something was to ever happen she wouldn't know how to tell Jack because as much as she loved him and trusted him she didn't think he would like her dating one of his team mates.

She wouldn't want him to be mad at her for something she couldn't help. The only people aware of her feelings towards Patrick were; her mum, Nonna, Jo, Bella, Darcy and Cassie but when she started thinking about it she realised Tilly probably knew as well because Leni complained to Tilly about the guy she liked but never said his name it was kind of implied it was Patrick though.

"Hey can I tell you something" Leni asked starting to get nervous she didn't what was coming over her but she was rolling with it

"Ah yeah sure, is everything okay?" asked Pat also getting a bit nervous worried she would say something about them being just good friends or something

"I'm this is going to sound weird but I feel like I should just tell you and get it off my chest so um I'm just going to say it" Leni stated before taking a deep breath and preparing herself for rejection

"Okay um I like you, as more than a friend and so completely understand if you don't felt the same or don't want to be friends with me anymore" She rambled on nervously waiting for him too say something

"Nora, stop rambling. I'm glad you said that though because I've been feeling the same for awhile" He told her slightly nervously putting his hand in her shoulder and looking into her eyes. Pat felt very relieved knowing he didn't have to say it first and that she liked him

"Seriously?" She asked

"Yeah, jeez I feel like a teenager right now admitting feelings nervously" He laughed making Leni laugh

"Okay just so i know if we're on the same page or not, you like me and I like you as well?" She clarified

"I think so" He chuckled leaning in slightly

"Well I have a question for you" Leni said nervously

"Shoot"

Leni took a deep breath before beginning her question

"Can I kiss you?" She asked with a bit more confidence than before

"Most definitely" Pat laughed as the two of them slowly leant in connecting their lips in kiss. As their lips moved together Leni felt the butterflies in her stomach explode whereas Pat felt like he was on top of the world, she had beat him to admitting feelings but he was kind of glad.

They broke apart both slightly out of breath, leaning their foreheads against each other. Suddenly they both started laughing

"I don't know why I was so nervous and awkward" Leni cackled

"Yeah we were like those two awkward kids in high school who liked each other but would never admit it" He snorted

"I remember those people in school, it was pretty funny too watch" She laughed remembering when she and Cassie watched two kids in high school awkwardly admit feelings for each other

"So what do you say Nora, why don't we make dinner our first date?" He asked confidently

"A bit cocky there are we, I would love to" She laughed leaning her head against his shoulder as he put his arm around her.

The positions felt so right for both of them neither knew how much longer the ride was meant to go fo but decided to soak it all up looking out at the view.

"That seemed like something form a movie y'know, like the kiss on the ferris wheel, that's some romcom type shit" Patty thought aloud

"Yeah, kinda cheesy, but I wouldn't change it" She laughed in agreement

The two of them were back in the car driving to a restaurant nearby for their last destination of the night. Arriving they got out of the car and walked in getting seated in a corner booth near the back.

"Hey I know this will sound weird, but can we keep this a bit of a secret, I don't really know what Jack will say and I kinda just want to tell him a bit later" She asked

"Yeah sure, so now we're like one of those couples dating in secret?" he clarified doing a weird spy like movement that made Leni cringe slightly

"Hey you haven't asked me too be your girlfriend or anything" She informed him

"In that case Eleanora Torelle, Will you be my secret girlfriend?" He asked dramatically

"Yes yes a thousand times yes!" She laughed matching his dramatics making them both erupt in laughter.

The rest of night was filled with funny stories, laughter and eating. It hadn't really sunk in for either of them that they were now dating yet, it felt quite surreal, Leni was kind of glad they weren't telling anyone yet because she had no clue how Jack would react and didn't want him to blow up on her.

The two of them left after Leni forced Pat to split the bill not wanting him to pay for her once again, getting in the car they both had big smiles on their faces knowing that know they were dating and no longer in the awkward stage were they both liked each other but didn't say anything.

As they arrived at Leni's apartment Pat offered to walk her to her to which she politely declined in case Jack was home before getting out she leant over and placed a soft kiss on his lips which lasted for a few seconds before she pulled away with a blush, saying goodbye and walking to the front of the apartment complex.

Walking into the apartment Leni saw a light coming from Jack's room meaning he was home, she quickly walked to her room shouting hello to him and shut her door. She jumped onto her bed burying her face in her pillow thinking about the night she had just spent with her now boyfriend, it felt like a dream still, she was incredibly happy at how it had turned out though she really wanted to tell Cass, her mum, nonna and Jo but didn't know if she should.

She decided she would double check with Pat at training the next day and see if she could tell them, after making the agreement with him about not telling people she didn't want to tell them without asking him first. He would most likely say yes, Leni really wanted to tell her mum, Jo and Rita especially seeing as she had updated them every time they hung out or talked so she felt like she should tell them about the night.

Quickly poking her head into Jack's room Leni saw him asleep on his bed, she walked over pulling his doona over him and giving him a kiss on his head whispering goodnight before going back to her room to change and crawl into bed dreaming of the afternoon she had just spent with Patrick

A/N 1375 words. THEY KISSED! i didn't really know how to write a good kiss but anyway. I actually really like this chapter and I low key want a boyfriend now but anyway
