Chapter 15

6:00pm Sunday January 8th 2017

Leni and Jack hadn't done much all day, Caleb and Charlie had come over around 5pm and were just chilling in Jack's room with him whilst Leni was mentally preparing herself to text Pat back.

As Len was sitting on her bed she was thinking about what she would say, she then decided that she probably just say hi back and answer his question, so she got out her phone, opened up his text, and typed in "Hey, I'm good, how are you? before sending it and throwing her phone across the room.

The trio of idiots walked into Leni's room hearing her sigh and throw her phone. "What's up" asked Caleb as they all sat on the floor like primary school kids.

"I just texted a guy back" she told them with her hands covering her face.

"Ooh who?" asked Charlie leaning forward slightly.

"That doesn't matter" she responded "Well why did you throw your phone after texting him?" asked Jack looking very confused.

"Because" she stated sassily "That's not a reason" he responded "Ugh, I need to talk to Cass" she groaned

"Are we not good enough to rant to" questioned Caleb acting sad "You guys are fine but you aren't girls" she told him.

"I mean we can dress up and act like we are if you want" suggested Charlie with a shrug looking at Jack and Caleb who nodded in agreement "I don't think you guys want to hear about my love life" she said looking at them like they were idiots.

Well they were but anyway. From across the room her phone buzzed, Leni leapt up and grabbed her phone.

Patty was making some dinner, Lachie had gone out for the night so it was just him. Leni hadn't answered his text yet and he was starting to believe she didn't get it or she was ignoring it, he hoped she would respond but if she didn't there was nothing he could do he planned to still talk to her tomorrow though because even if she didn't answer his text he wasn't going to not talk to her and miss any possible chance could have.

He was close to texting her again as he was eating when she responded he nearly laughed in excitement before sitting back down wondering what the fuck was happening to him.

He wasn't sure if he should look at it yet, he ended up deciding he would wait for about 5 minutes before responding just in case. After 5 minutes he sent a response and then put on the TV to make waiting for a response go quicker.

Leni sat on her bed with her phone whilst the boys sat on the floor looking up at her as she opened her phone waiting for her to say something. "Okay he's texted me back" she told them as she read the message, it was a simple;

'Yeah, I'm pretty good a bit tired but good, are you excited for training tomorrow?'

She liked how he was asking her questions. She quickly texted him back saying;

Yeah i'm looking forward too it, maybe we'll get to work together again. :)

"Well what does it say?" asked a very impatient Caleb looking up at her eagerly

"It's just answering my question and asking me one" she said not wanting to say what the text said or else it would give away that it was one of their team mates and she didn't really want that.

She quickly typed a response and sent it before turning back to the boys, "I have work in about an hour until 10:30 so don't stay up too late because training starts at 8:30 for you guys and 7 for me unfortunately" She told them sternly hoping they would listen to her

"Yes mum" they all said in sync still sitting on the floor with their legs crossed like primary school kids "Good, now does anyone want dinner" she asked the trio nodded their heads quickly hopping up from the floor and running to the kitchen.

Leni was just about to start making dinner when she remembered that since Jack lost the bet he had to cook and clean for a week so she turned to him with a look letting him know she remembered, he groaned but got up and started making dinner. Leni found it funny that the trio acted like little kids and surprisingly listened to her most of the time.

At 6:20 Leni started getting ready for work and texted Cass asking if she needed to be picked up seeing as they both had the same shift that night after getting a yes she said bye to the boys and got in her car.

When she arrived at Cassie's to pick her her up it was about 6:30pm they both started at 7 until 10:30 meaning that Cass would probably just come back to Leni's for the night and then get Leni to drop her home on the way to training the next morning.

Pat opened up her text seeing her response, he was happy that she was excited and found it sweet that she wanted to do stuff with him at training. He texted her saying he was hoping they could train together as well before shutting off his phone and watching some TV.

Cass and Leni had been chatting and singing whilst driving to the bar about 10 minutes away they arrived they got there at about 6:45 and walked into the small staff room at the back. There weren't many people there seeing as it was a Sunday and normally there wasn't many people there on a Sunday night.

Leni and Cassie were both working in the bar for the night instead of waitressing which was good seeing as neither of them particularly liked waitressing.

Cassie was standing at the bar waiting for someone to come and order something, Leni had gone on her 20 minute break whilst Cass decided to have hers later it was about 8:30, she saw someone walk through the door who seemed vaguely familiar she couldn't tell who it was from a distance but as they walked over she recognised them.

"Bella" she shouted waving her over since Leni introduced them they became good friends and texted regularly, "Hey Cass, how are you?" she asked "I'm good I recently got back from my retreat thing, are you here for something?" she asked her "Ah  yeah, is Len here?" she asked her "Yep I'll go grab her" said Cass

"Leni, Bella's here for you" said Cassie as she walked into the staffroom "Okay" responded Len walking out "I'm taking my break cover for me" shouted Cass as Leni walked out getting a yell of Okay back.

"Hey Bells, what do you need?" asked Leni with a smile "I knew you had work and I was driving by so I assumed you wouldn't have seen what Damo emailed us" said Bella "No I haven't, what's he said" asked Leni

"He sent out an email changing training for us and the boys so We're all starting at 8 but you and Crippa need to be there at 7:15 for a meeting with the coaches" Bella told her "Okay, thank you for telling me" said Leni "All good I'm gonna go but I'll see you tomorrow morning" responded Bella before walking out.

It was 10:45 and Leni and Cass had just gotten to Leni and Jack's apartment to see the trio fast asleep on the couch as tempted as she was to wake them up by whacking pots and pans together she simply grabbed a blanket and put it over them so they would be warm. Leni and Cass walked to Leni's room to go to bed.

Leni's room was fairly big and had a desk, wardrobe, a bed and a couch that pulled out into a bed for when Cass stayed the night, which was quite frequently.

Cass had her own little section of Leni's wardrobe with some of her clothes, pjs and other necessities for when she was there. Both girls changed and brushed their teeth before heading to bed Leni making sure to set and alarm for about 6am before falling past asleep. She hadn't checked her phone for a message from Pat so she didn't know that he texted her back.

A/N 1362 words, hope youve all had a good day im so tired and done with school i hope you guys liked this chapter. I got my first dose of the vaccine yesterday and my arms kinda sore
