Chapter 50

8:30am Monday March 12th 2017

Leni was awoken due to shouting coming from the kitchen, she stood up with a groan and stumbled to the noise whilst rubbing her eyes.

"Orange juice is shit" Cassie stated with a shrug sitting at the bench as Leni walked into the room.

"APPLE ISN'T ANY BETTER" Jack retaliated whilst taking his toast out of the toaster.

"I like tropical" Zac chimed in from the couch

"Zac shush" both shouted quickly turning to face him

"Both of you shut the fuck up" Leni said with a yawn as she sat on the couch next to Zac

"Morning Len" Jack greeted getting up and giving her a small hug.

He wanted to ask if Crippa had texted her last night like he said he would, all Jack wanted was for his cousin to be happy and he knew that she was happiest with Patrick.

"Yeah morning Leni, anyway I've got to get to work so bye. See you all later" Cassie shouted as she opened the door of the apartment and walked out

"Bye"

Leni was sitting at her desk going through emails when her phone buzzed next to her. Jack and Fish had left to go to Charlie's house not too long before so she was alone.

Opening the text she saw it was from Pat

Hey Nora, I was wondering if we could meet up sometime today and talk?

Leni didn't know if she should agree, on one hand he had broken her heart but on the other she missed him. A lot. What harm could one catchup cause anyway she thought.

Uh yeah sure, What time were you thinking and where?

Leni typed out before clicking the send button.

She didn't know what to think. The guy she's in love with despite them being broken up just texted her wanting to meet up when they hadn't really spoken since the whole thing. Leni didn't know why she said yes either, what if he wanted to get back together.

As much as she really wanted to get back with him she didn't know if she would let herself, to her knowledge he had broken up with her for no reason and that didn't make her want to automatically run back to him.

She sat contemplating the choice she had just made until she received another text from him.

How about 6:30pm and at the restaurant by the beach we went to a little while ago?

Leni remember the exact restaurant it was where she started to realise she was falling for him, maybe it was a good sign that they might make up where they started to like each other.

Patrick had built up the courage to text her. She had replied.

He had hope that they would be able to rekindle their relationship, it was his fault that it was over but he just needed to explain to her why he had done so and hopefully Leni would forgive him.

Once he had texted a date and she responded almost immediately agreeing with the arrangement.
