4:30pm Saturday January 7th 2017
Leni and Jack were getting ready for a family dinner at 6 that night. It was going to be a dinner with Jack's Family, Leni's mum and their Grandparents. Leni was very excited to tell them about getting in the women's team and was very excited for her Nonno Sergio and uncle Stephen's reactions seeing as they were both basically Carlton legends, she hoped they would be very proud of her for being on the first ever Carlton AFLW team.
Leni was finished getting ready at about 5:15 and they were set to leave around 5:30 so she sat on the couch on her phone, she had been wondering if Pat had forgotten her number or if he just hadn't texted her yet but she was just going to wait it out.
For some reason she wanted him to text her and she wanted to get to know him but she couldn't text him until he texted her first seeing as she didn't have his number.
She started wondering if he actually wanted to text her or if he was just being nice or some shit, she hoped he genuinely wanted to talk to her.
She decided she wasn't going to think about him anymore she was confused as to why she even wanted him to text her, she barely knew him for fucks sake but the way he said Nora not Leni and she didn't mind, the way he was one of the only people to make her blush, the way he was just as competitive as she was and the way that he actually took the time to have a conversation with her not just ask for her number in hopes that they could hook up or something.
She decided to try and stop thinking about him and focus on the family dinner that night. She was excited to see her Nonna, mum and Jo her aunt because as much as she loved Jack and her friends non of them have great love life advice. She was probably going to pull them aside later in the night and get their opinion on the whole Patrick situation because she didn't know what to think.
Jack walked out of his room at about 5:30 and saw his cousin sitting on the coach with her phone in her lap looking in deep thought.
"You good?" he asked her causing her to snap out of her trance and look towards him
"Yeah I'm fine, why?" she asked
"You looked out of it, are you ready to go" he said
"Yeah I'm ready, let's go" she said and they started walking out to the car. Leni was driving because Jack didn't feel like driving that night.
They arrived at Jack and his family's house in Balwyn when they arrived it was around 6:10 but everyone else was there already. They both walked up to the door and rung the doorbell. The door swung open revealing Jo who quickly invited them in before giving them both a massive hug.
"Aw it's so good to see you two again I feel like we haven't seen you in ages" Said Jo very excitedly
"Hey mum" said Jack "Hey Jo" said Leni "Alright let's head through to everybody else" she said.
Jo led them both through to the lounge where everybody also was sitting around laughing. "Leni, Jack how are you two?" asked their nonna Rita coming up to hug them "Hey nonna" they both responded.
"Hey Len, Hey Jack" said her mum from a chair on the couch.
"Children" greeted their Nonno Sergio with a smile
"Hey Nonno" they both responded "Hey kiddos" said Stephen "Hey" they both said before going over and sitting with Jack's siblings/Leni's cousins Ben and Tom.
The 4 kids all got along well seeing as they all grew up together and Leni was basically the boy's older sister seeing as grew up a couple houses down.
"So what's it like not living with parents" asked Tom the 15 year old
"It's pretty good, you don't have parents nagging you but you have to cook and clean which can be annoying" responded Jack
"Eh that still sounds nice" said Ben the 17 year old.
Leni was the oldest of the 4 there was a 2 year age gap between them it went Leni(21) then Jack(19) next was Ben(17) and the youngest was Tom(15). Everyone chatted before moving to the table for dinner which was Nonna's Lasagna that everybody loved.
Dinner was fun and as everyone was near the end of their meals Leni decided it was time to tell them about her playing for Carlton.
"Hey everyone, I've got some news" said Leni getting everybody's attention
"Have you got a boyfriend?" asked Jo, Nonna and Lisa (Leni's mum) at the same time with a bit of excitement "No but I do need to talk to you 3 about a guy later" She started speaking but getting interrupted by the men
"What" they all said in sync
"Um I live with you and I have no clue about this mystery guy" said Jack acting offended
"Okay hush, anyway let me finish my announcement, Alright so recently I got an email about a job kinda thing and I accepted it" she said before getting interrupted once again
"What's the job" asked an intrigued Stephen Silvagni
"As I was saying, I got offered a spot on the new Carlton women's team and I accepted it" she told them getting a few looks of shock before getting engulfed in a hug by Sergio who was sitting next to her
"We have another Carltoner!" He shouted in glee everyone started congratulating her
Her mum even cried and she was pretty sure she saw Stephen do a little fist pump before trying to cover it up. All round they were all very proud but no one was as proud as Sergio and Stephen seeing as they had both played for the club, taught her how to play footy and were her biggest supporters in footy growing up.

After everyone had congratulated her and things like that she and the women all walked onto the porch outside so Leni could update them on her love life whilst the men did whatever they normally did together.
"Alright I think we would all like to know what you were talking about earlier" announced Rita her nonna
"Okay so, I met this guy a couple days ago and we've talked a bit and we wink at each other and smile at each other randomly and yesterday he asked for my number so I gave it to him, but he still hasn't texted me" She ranted to them.
"Well can we know who this mystery man is" asked Jo "Well he's one of Jack's team mates actually, luckily Jack hasn't noticed him and I or els he would be dead" She told them
"It's one of Jack's team mates" clarified her mum "Yeah" responded Leni
"Well what's his name" asked her Nonna impatiently "Well it's the captain actually" she said
"PATRICK CRIPPS" shouted her mum
"MUM, Jack and the others will hear you!" Leni whispered checking to see if any of the boys had heard when she saw they hadn't she turned back "Yes Patrick Cripps" she said.
"Ooh honey, he's cute" said Rita looking at a picture of him she had just gotten up on his phone
"I know Nonna, but I don't think I like him" she said "Are you sure" asked Jo looking at her suspiciously
"Yes I think, I don't know" she said slumping in her chair.
As she sat down her phone Pinged in her pocket, they all looked down to see if it was him only to be disappointed when they saw it was a notification from Instagram as they were all turning away from her phone it dinged once again.
But this time it was a text.

A/N 1308 words, hey i don't know if this is a big cliffhanger or not but i thought it'd make it more fun. I decided to split up the paragraphs instead of making them big chunks. hope youre all doing well. also Mon looked so pretty at the brownlow
