Chapter 55

“Did you find her? Why can’t I track her phone anymore?”

“We can’t track her either, sir. Baka naka-off na ang phone niya.”

“Do you mean we lost her? We can’t lose her!”, he frantically said over the phone. “Find a way to locate her, I’ll talk to Blake’s team if they found something helpful.”

He was about to dial Blake’s number when he received a clip of the CCTV footage at the mall and his whole body went cold in horror as he watched Catherine being dragged to a car. His hand shook in rage as she was being hauled on to the back of the vehicle after being hit. That crazy alcoholic freak dared hurt his sweet angel! He angrily answered when his phone rang.

“Blake, locate that bastard no matter what!”, he said on gritted teeth as he walked back and forth outside the gasoline station’s convenience store where Catherine was last located.

“We’re on it, sir. We’re already tracking his plate number.”

“Okay, make sure –”

He was cut off by a slap from a raging woman he didn’t recognize and then he was surrounded by three men. The one on his right  is bulky and muscular, the one on his left is lean but with guns on either side of his belt, and the one behind the woman is somewhat feminine-looking.

“Walanghiya ka! Saan mo dinala ang kapatid ko?”, she barked, her face contorted with rage.

“I don’t know what you're talking–“

“Si Mia, saan mo siya dinala? Iniwan ko lang siya sa mall kanina para makipagkita sa’yo tapos bigla nalang siyang nawala at ngayon hindi ko na siya makontak.”

“You’re Catherine’s sister? I don’t know where she is either. I’m also looking for her.”

“Ano’ng ibig mong sabihin? Eh, kayo nga ang magkasama kanina.”

“Hindi kami nagkita. She was kidnapped right after you left the mall. Here”, he handed her his phone and let them watch the footage. “I was tracking her phone and her last location was here.”

She glanced up at him with less outraged eyes this time.

“Yeah, we were also tracking her down but we lost her. Akala namin magkasama kayong dalawa.”

“My team is already tracking that jerk's plate number. I'm still waiting for their update.”

“So we’ll just wait here? Madilim na at mukhang uulan pa. Kailangan na natin siyang mahanap. Baka ano pang mangyari kay Mia.“

“I know. Gusto ko na ring may gawin but we’re stuck here.”

“Bumabalik na ang signal”, singit ng isa sa mga kasamang lalaki nitong medyo binabae.

He looked questioningly at the woman.

“May kinabit akong tracking device sa hikaw ni Mia kanina kasi duda ako sa’yo.”

“Damn, right.”

"Pero nawalan kami ng signal. Pakiramdam ko na-dislocate lang ang device or natanggal lang kaya ganon."

He nodded as he listened to her intently. This woman knows what she's doing and knowing that she's Catherine's sister, she's already brilliant for his standard.

“Nasa isang banana plantation siya!”, she exclaimed after seeing the man’s phone.

“Ano pang hinihinatay natin? Let’s go!”, said the man with guns while going back to their car and the rest of the group followed suit.

“Wait, sasama ako.”

“No, kami na ang bahala. Kaya na namin ‘to”, she said before entering the car.
