Present 5: I want to see her

THOMAS’ POV

I don’t know what’s happening. I can’t move my body. There are a lot of lights flashing. A lot of people are surrounding my car. Someone’s pulling me out of my car. Argghh. My head started to ache. *Thomas closes his eyes* I can hear someone’s talking. Arrgggh. I can barely open my eyes.

Thomas opened his eyes.

 

THOMAS: Ara! *Thomas sat and grabs the girl’s hand*

 

Ara. I want to talk to her but I can’t speak. No voice is coming out. I suddenly felt that my whole body is aching. Ara looked shocked. She’s not saying anything and just looking at me. The person beside me grabbed my hand. I grasped to Ara’s hand tighter. No. I won’t let Ara go. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I want to tell her I’m sorry but nothing’s coming out. Argggh. My eyes are closing. *tears fell down his face*

GIRL: It’s okay kuya. I’ll go with you.

THOMAS: *closed his eyes* Don’t go Ara. *still crying*

GIRL: I won’t. Now lie down. *Thomas lied down but still holding the girl’s hand* I’ll stay beside you. Don’t worry I won’t go. Calm down.

Thomas then fell asleep.

 

Argggh. I can’t see anything. Something’s blocking my eyes and I can barely move my body. Wait Ara.

THOMAS: Ara!

MIKA: *held Thomas hand* Thom.

THOMAS: *grabbed Mika’s hand* Mika?

MIKA: Yes Thomas.

THOMAS: Mika. Si Ara nakita ko. Si Ara.

MIKA: *hugs Thomas* Thomas. Please don’t leave us. Please don’t scare us like that. I don’t know what to do kapag pati ikaw mawala. Di ba together tayong magpapakatatag?

I can feel her tears in my shirt and I think marami sila. I can hear other sobbing. Ara. *tears fell down Thomas face*  Ara. Did you let me see you so that I won’t give up on this life? Para sa mga taong nagmamahal sa akin? Pero Ara. Ara I don’t know how I can live here without you.

THOMAS: *hugs Mika* I’m sorry Miks. I’m sorry everyone. *tried to remove the thing blocking his eyes*

MIKA: *stops Thomas* No Thomas. Don’t remove that.

THOMAS: I can’t see Miks.

MIKA: Calm down. They need to operate your eyes. Don’t worry makakakita ka ulit.

Somebody hugged Thomas

 

THOMAS: Sino to? *hugs back*

MOMMY NI THOMAS: Anak. You scared us. Don’t do that again.

THOMAS: I’m sorry ma.

I can now hear a lot of voices. Many of them are familiar voices. Ate Abi, Jeron, Kim, Kuya Robert and other WVT and MBT. They seem worried. You should be strong Thomas! Don’t let them see you are weak. Don’t let them worry about you.
