Time With Acid Rain

I wasn't as sore as I thought I would be after that session. Damn, it was nice. I was still sore, just not as bad.

Oh, my new house. Our house. Man, it was beautiful. A driver took me home from work everyday that Reid couldn't. I had my own gate with a code. It was so cool.

I walked into the kitchen and made a personal pizza in the oven. This oven was ridiculous. It was also an air fryer that toasted my pizza perfectly. It was like a three thousand dollar oven. I looked it up.

My fridge...it connected to my phone. I could make a list of things that I needed and it would send that to my phone. Or I could order my groceries from it and they were delivered. Reid was taking care of me in ways that I didn't know were possible.

I always waited for R2D2 to roll around the corner or something. It didn't happen. I did have two vacuum robots in this house, one downstairs and one upstairs.

My phone rang and I smiled. It was Jack. "Hey!"

Jack sighed. "Hey, how are you?"

"Good? Are you okay?"

"Just bored!" Jack sighed again. "I can't have friends over or go anywhere because Dad's at meetings. My cousin is "watching me" and I put that in air quotes. What are you doing?"

I chuckled as I removed my pizza. "I just got home. Late day. I'm about to eat pizza and I don't know."

"No plans?" Jack asked.

"No, your dad's in meetings. What are you thinking?" I got some juice and sat in the living room. It's title was living and I was going to live in it. I turned on my TV.

"Do you have an Xbox?" Jack hinted.

I smiled. "I do...what game!" I was all for it. We played some game called Rainbow Six Siege. I hadn't played it before but it was fun. We had switched to headphones and online players. It was easier to talk and play.

My alarm went off at nine. "Hey, Acid Rain." It was Jack's code name. Mine was Hex, of course.

I could hear Jack laughing. "It's time to sleep. Bedtime." I was trying out the whole parent thing. We'll see how this goes.

Jack sighed. "I know. Hex, thanks for playing with me. The very few people that did date my dad, and I mean few, didn't want me around."

I sighed. "I'm sorry that they made you feel so small, Acid Rain. I like you. We should do this again and schedule an outing with just us."

Jack agreed. "Okay. Night, Hex."

"Night, Acid Rain." I smiled at his name.

I went to bed shortly after that and was in a deep sleep until I got a call at three am. I was barely conscious as my phone sang a Bruno Mars song. "Lo?"

I heard Reid's chuckle. Man, it was deep. "Hey, Kitten."

I adjusted in my bed. "Teddy?" I loved calling him that.

"Mhmm. It's me. I just finished some emails. You alright?" Reid was worried about me.

"Yep. Sleeping. You? You need more sleep, Teddy."

I heard him sigh. "I know. I talked to Jack. He said that you played video games with him tonight?"

I didn't know if I did something wrong. "I should have asked you first but I figured you were in meetings. Should I ask first? I'm so sorry, Reid!" I was awake and worried now.

"Kitten! Calm down. I wasn't mad! I wanted to say thanks. He told me that you guys talked a little. He said he told you that I dated a few times before and we hadn't really talked." Reid sighed. "Are you okay?"

"I am. I know you, Reid and I don't care who you dated. Jack said they didn't hang out long." I adjusted my pillow so I could sit up.

"They did not. I didn't appreciate their attitude toward Jack. Kitten, I have dated exactly five men. You're my first so you know. I never felt for them like I do you. I didn't want to have sex with someone that I didn't trust with my child." Reid explained.

"I didn't ask, Reid." I sighed. "I...Jack brought it up."

"I know. He told me and I wanted to be clear with you, Kitten. Okay." Reid stated to me.

I smiled. "You are the best. Thanks for clearing that up. Jack and I had so much fun. I gave him a code name for the game. It's Acid Rain."

Reid sighed. "If I was with you, Kitten, I would destroy you."

I chuckled. "You're terrible, Teddy."

"I'm going to let you go get some sleep. Sorry to wake you up. See you at ten. Eat breakfast first, then I'll take you to lunch and dinner. Okay?" Reid advised.

"Okay. Get some sleep, Teddy. Night."

"Kitten, you're one of a kind. Night."
