There And Back Again

Anakia's P.O.V.

Pushing dirt into the grave, my mind drifts to Ben. I can sense he survived the destruction on Star Killer Base. Where he is, I'm not sure, but he's been calling me with the force, though I don't answer back to him.

I'm on Yavin 4, beside my father's grave that's still covered in flowers. The moment I arrive, I went to his grave and haven't left since. Han's in a grave beside him as I fill it with dirt.

My old home looks better than when I left it. The ground's covered in grass again. I can barely see where the younglings' houses used to be, but I know by heart where they should be.

My old hut is still in tacked but plants have grown high around it, making it look deserted. There's nothing but my father's grave and my hut in this area on Yavin' 4. It looks as if no one has been here since Ben and I left.

Sitting on my knees, I slowly push dirt into the grave emotionlessly. I do not know what to do next, or where to go from here. This is the first time I'm free to do as I please; not what my father wants, not what Luke or Ben asks of me.

Not even a day has passed since the Star Killer Base blew up. I'll give myself a few days to decide what to do next before someone comes looking for me. Both the First Order and the Rebellion might search for me, but I still haven't decided what side I should go to.

Until I decide what to do, I can't stay in one place for long. I keep recalling the words I've heard in Luke's voice, but I still don't know where to find him. I could search for Leia, but I don't see what good that would do.

The thought of seeing her again makes my blood boil just as it did before with Han. There are still questions I have that are unanswered by Leia and Luke. Though, I'm not sure if they're worth being answered anymore.

The thought of going back to Ben has crossed my mind, but I'm don't believe I'll be welcome after what I did. I don't want to be in a cage either, which he might do because of what has happened. I feel lost in the force and what I should do next.

For that reason, my mind keeps nagging me to find Luke. However, the fact still stands; I don't know where he is and my feelings toward him after what he's done to Ben. As I move more soil into the grave, I hear something in the sky come closer to the field I'm in.

Glancing up, I see a ship similar to the command shuttle I took from the hangar. My ship is in the distance in the field, with plenty of room for another ship to land. Standing up, I wipe off the dirt from my hands on my dress.

Watching the ship, I notice it lowering itself to land in this field. Stiffening my shoulders, I wait to see who it is in the ship before sprinting into the forest to hide. When the ship lands next to mine, I study it as it shuts down.

The ramp comes out and I take a step back, ready to run away. I watch someone slowly walk out of the ship and scrunch my face to see who it is. I expected there to be a group of men since it's a First Order ship, but I only see one person.

The figure's entirely covered in black while holding a black bag in one hand. I don't clearly see them to know it's Ben Solo.

I feel my heart race pick up as he strides toward me. The closer he gets, the more nervous I become.

"H- How did you know I was here?" I call out when he's halfway to me. When he doesn't answer, the hair on my back spikes up. "I couldn't just let him fall, Ben." Blabbering out, I breathe heavily, waiting for his reaction. "He at least deserved a proper grave."

When there are only a few yards between us, I see his face clearly. He has a cut going through the left side of his face, his attire his burnt and torn apart. Something must have happened during the time we separated and the time the resistance destroy Star Killer Base.
