Crazy Little Pirate

Anakia's P.O.V.

"It's been two days, Ani." Poe mumbles from beside me. "I think it's time to take a chance and send out a message to the Resistance."

"Lando is always late. Give it another day."

I defend while standing up and going inside the ship. Ahsoka, Grogu, Poe and I are sitting around a fire by my father's ship. We have set up a camp by the ship waiting for a response to our message. 

It's been two days since I sent out the message and we've heard nothing back. At least we have seen no First Order ships. We've been taking watches at night in case we get a response.

Going into the cockpit, I retype the message and send it out. Lando is around here somewhere, I know it. Relaxing in my seat, I notice Snips scampering up onto the control panel. 

She's sniffing the dirt and pawing at a few buttons. Sitting there watching her, I know we might only have one more day with the emergency power of this ship. We might just have to send out a message for the resistance if it comes down to it.

Scanning around, I hear Poe and Grogu talking about where the Resistance is at this moment. We've already discussed with Grogu and Ahsoka about what will happen when we reach base. They offered to help us with any mission until the First Order's gone.

Dameron and I haven't mentioned or brought up our impulsive kiss. I know I haven't spoken of it since I don't know how to feel about it. It wasn't a good time for me, if I'm honest. 

I've just recently started getting back to myself and I don't want to chance it. I'm guessing Poe has said nothing about it since he's been to focus of getting us off this system. Not to mention what will happen when we reach the Resistance. 

We might get back to a mess of a Rebellion, we don't know anymore. Staring down at Snip, I sigh while petting her back. 

She gives me a toothy smile before stretching out on the control. Smiling down softly at her, I lean back in the crooked chair.

"Hello? Anyone down there?"

"Lando..." I breathe out when I hear a small voice coming from the speakers. Pressing down on the radio, I speak up frantically with a loud voice. "Lando! It's me! Ani! I'm here!"

"Ani... As in Anakia, Ani?" Lando chuckles in amazement through the speakers. "How long has it been? What are you doing down there, crazy little pirate?"

"It's been too long." I sigh in relief with a grin from ear to ear. "Our ship crashed landed here. We need a ride if you got the room for us."

"For you?" Lando bursts out laughing. "I'm sure we can squeeze you in somewhere..."

His radio call stops and I let out a breath while glancing at Snip. Her head tilted while staring up at the speakers. Laughing in utter relief, I pick her up and run out of the ship.

"Lando saw the message." I speak up to the group around the campfire. "What I tell you! Come on. Let's go!"

"He's giving us a ride?" Ahsoka bolts up and turns to meet my gaze. I nod while grabbing my bag, running to the closest clearing I call out. "Old friends die hard with smugglers... Now, hurry!"

I hear everyone scrambling to get their things and put out the fire. They follow behind me as I enter the biggest clearing around us. Searching up in the sky, I wait to see a ship flying by.

When I see a ship half fly past us, I drop my bag and wave my arms up. Jumping in place, I see it circle around and lower itself down. I hear Ahsoka and Poe laughing in happiness as they watch the ship come down to land.
