M U T E D
Season 10
Daryl's Point of View:
Magna holds a stare with me before her eyes shift over to Connie. Her brows furrow down and she shakes her head at her. Connie shrugs her shoulders before turning her head away, looking around for any sign of Kelly. The three of us push on. Dog runs up a small hill and begins barking down at us. I jog up the hill, catching what he sees. It's Kelly, leanin against a tree unresponsive. Connie runs up to Kelly and she presses her fingers to the neck of her, putting her face against Kelly's nose to feel for a breath. I quickly rush over and kneel down in front of Kelly.
"Hey." Magna shakes Kelly and Kelly jerks to life, whimpering and gasping. Connie shows Kelly a smile and she holds her close in her arms. Connie asks Kelly what happened and Kelly begins to explain. Connie shows a smile and hugs her sister tight. Magna opens her water bottle and feeds it to Kelly. Kelly coughs the water back up, leaning over.
"We gotta get her back to Hilltop." Magna says.
"Nah, I think we gotta find somewhere closer." I say. The state Kelly's in right now, she's not gonna make it walkin all the way back to Hilltop. Best chance is to find a place to hold up for the night, let her build up her strength and get some rest. Magna motions for Connie to tell him.
"Tell him what?" I question. Connie walks over to the large pile of leaves and branches behind me and she pulls them apart. She reveals a crate with a bunch of supplies, along with two large bags. The only way I knew they could get these supplies is from Hilltop. Ain't no way Magna would go out of her own way to find her own damn supplies.
"Did you know about this?" I ask Connie. She shakes her head no. Magna motions something that I don't understand to Connie, she spoke too fast for me to keep up. "Hey, what's she sayin?" I growl. Magna looks at me.
"I said I don't trust you." She says. I sat myself down, starin at her.
"What's your problem, huh?" I ask her. Magna always got somethin to say, always seems to have a problem with everybody- especially when it comes to authority. "Hilltop takes you in. They got sick children and mouths to feed, and you steal from 'em? All you're good for is talkin shit." Connie pulls my attention.
"We'll tell them we found it." She says. I let out a scoff and stood up from my spot. I turn around and began packing everything up in the large bags, putting the rest that couldn't fit in the small crate.
"Come on. Let's get back." I say. I toss one bag and the crate to Magna. "You're carryin that shit." I growl at her.
We enter back into Hilltop. Everyone that watched us walk in showed smiles and seemed happy we we all came back alive, especially getting Kelly back home. Siddiq walks over to me, informing me that he needed to get home. Rosita caught some sort of bug and he wants to head home to keep an eye on her.
By the time the sun disappeared, I gathered my things and prepared the bike. Dog roamed around the area, all I had to do was whistle and he'd come runnin alongside with me. Connie approaches me with a small smile.
"Heading back?" She asks.
"Uh, yeah. Siddiq has to go back." I explain. "Is Kelly okay?" I ask. Connie smiles and nods her head.
