M U T E D
Season 3
Daryl's Point of View:
"Think you'll be okay while I'm gone for a day or two?" I ask B. She smiles and lightly punches my shoulder. "Alright. I'll take that as a yes. She holds her hands up and begins speaking sign language to me.
"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Besides, while you're gone, I'll get to be Rick's right hand man." She smirks and kisses me.
"Alright, that sounds a little sneaky to me. Don't do anything dumb while I'm gone. Can't be havin a Shane and Lori 2.0." I roll my eyes at her, which causes her to silently laugh at me.
"I won't. You be careful." She says.
"Always am." I promise her and kiss her forehead. I finally pick up my bag and I walk towards the car, tossing my things in there.
"Daddy! Daddy!" I hear. I turn my head and see the little girl running towards me with her ring arms opened. A smile forms across my face as I caught her in my arms, picking her up and squeezing her little body.
"You be a good girl now, okay? Listen to mommy while I'm gone." I tell her.
"I will." She lightly giggles. I miss her cheek and set her down. She runs off to B and holds her hand. Ever since B and I found Grace in a trash can, we couldn't live with ourselves leaving her behind. We never planned to have a baby together, let alone raise Grace as our own, but...adopting Grace might've been the best thing we've ever done. Maybe something I've ever done in my life. I never imagined myself with a wife and a kid, barely even imagined myself with a girlfriend. But here I am. Living in a shitty world, but having the only two people who keep me on my feet.
The sudden sound of a gunshot catches everyone's attention. Everyone around me either screams and runs or drops to the floor, taking cover. I look around through the chaos and see Grace screaming her head off and tears running down her face. I see a body lying next to her and I realized it's B.
"No. No. No. No, no, no, no!" I yell. I run towards the girls and I see a pile of blood surrounding B and Grace. There's a hole on in the corner of B's forehead and blood is pourin everywhere. I pick her body up and held her in my arms, holding her tight and crying, staring at her pale, lifeless body.
"Daryl...Daryl, get up. Daryl...Daryl!"
"Daryl. Hey." I open my eyes and found myself gasping for air. There's sweat covering my body as I looked around my surroundings. I finally look up and see Carol staring at me.
"You okay?" She asks. I look away from her and pick up my crossbow.
"I'm fine." I say.
"Are you sure? I heard you say-"
"I said I'm fine!" I snap at her. I huff and puff before getting up from the mattress and walking down the stairs. I make it to the others standing around a table with riot gear and weapons spread out on the table. I nod my head in approval.
"Not bad." I say.
"Flashbangs, CS Triple- Chasers. Not sure how they'd work on walkers, but we'll take 'em." Rick says. I pick up a helmet and long, disgusting ass string of slime, mostly walker skin poured out of the damn thing. I toss it down on the table and shake my head.
