M U T E D
Season 10
Bobbie's Point of View:
The walls collapsed around Connie and I, and the dead pushed us further in. Connie and I grab hands as we tried our best to avoid getting crushed by the falling rocks and wooden pillars from the entrance of the mining shaft. Connie suddenly pulls me forward as a wooden pillar smashes to the ground. We turn our heads and see the ceiling crumbling down and crushing the incoming walkers. Darkness takes over. Connie and I fall to the ground, covering our heads.Within minutes, the crumbling and roaring, explosions come to a stop. I slowly pick my head up, and feel around for the flashlight I had dropped. I felt a circular item hit the tips of my fingers and I reach out and grabbed onto it. I feel around for the switch and easily flicked the light on. I look around, seeing Connie lying on the ground beside me. I grab her shoulder and gently shake her. Her eyes open and I felt a wave of relief wash over me.
"Are you okay?" I ask her. Her eyes squeeze shut as her left hand pulls to her head. She lets out a sigh and sees blood.
"I'm okay." She tells me.
"We gotta get out of here. For all we know, this place may not be done crumbling." I tell her. I point my light around, trying to get an idea of where we could be.
"But how? We're basically trapped between the walls." Connie says. My eyes spot a small opening and a smile forms across my mouth.
"Maybe not." I point. She turns her head and follows my light. We both help each other up and limped our way to the small hole. As much as I wanted to freak out from being underground, I knew that I needed to stay perfectly sane for Connie and myself. Getting scared and freaking out isn't going to get us out of here alive.
I lower myself to my knees and prepare to crawl through the hole. But Connie stops me.
"What are we gonna do when we get through?" She asks.
"We'll have to see what's on the other side." I tell her. "Trust me. We gotta do everything we can so we can get out of here. I don't know about you, but I wanna see Daryl again. Don't you wanna get back to Kelly?" Connie nods her head. I show her a small smile before grabbing her had and squeezing it. "We're gonna get through this together. I'm part of the reason why we got in here, but I know I'm going to get us both out of here." I reassure her. Connie smiles and nods her head.
I turn back to the hole and I inhaled deeply. I hate small, enclosed spaces, I really do. But if there's a way out of here, then I'm going to put myself in small, enclosed spaces. I kept the light pointed straight ahead. I wanted to make sure that I didn't slip into another hole, cross with any walkers or even whisperers. I finally made it to the other end and I pull myself up on my feet. I look around me and see where we had crawled out from the hole earlier. But it was caved in from the crumbling. I point my light around and see the horde just below me. I tried to think of a way how to get out of here, but nothing came to mind. I finally turn back to the hole I came from and signaled for Connie to crawl through. She crawls her way over to me and we both looked around.
"See a way out?" I ask her. Her brows stitch together and she shakes her head. I let out a sigh, almost feeling myself grow hopeless. I kept my light pointed in every direction my eyes aimed at. I turn back the light and noticed a large crack behind us. I furrow my brows and approached it. I didn't have any matches and I wanted to punch myself for not being prepared. Then again, I wasn't planning on getting stuck in a cave. I felt Connie's hand on my shoulder and she tears off a piece of her clothing. She sticks her hand between the large crack and we watched the piece of clothing getting pulled inward.
