Season 5
Daryl's Point of View:
Carol and I walked through the woods for about thirty minutes. The most part, we didn't find anything or really spoke to each other. I know she's been bouncing between B and I, keeping an eye on us, making sure we're both okay. I appreciate it, but honestly, I just wanna be left alone. If B gets that, why can't Carol?
"Anything?" Carol asks. All I see is tall grass and green trees.
"Nah, it's too dry." I reply.
"Maybe we should start back." Carol says.
"You go." I nod at her, but kept my eyes on the ground searching.
"I think she saved my life." She says. I pick up my head and looked at her. She means Beth. "She saved your life, too, right?" She approaches me and holds out a light brown knife safe in its holster. "It was hers." I take Beth's knife and held it tight in my hands. All I can remember was her words replaying in my head...
"You're gonna miss be so bad when I'm gone, Daryl Dixon."
"We're not dead." Carol says. "That's what you said. You're not dead. I know you. We're different. I can't let myself- But you...I know you. You have to let yourself feel it." She brushes some of hair out of my face and pulls my head down a little, kissing me on the forehead. She pulls away and looks me in the eyes. She then turns away and heads back, but I stopped her.
"I pushed B away." Carol stops and looks at me. "She was just...tryna be there for me and I...I pushed her away. Physically. I used my hands, my strength. I put my hands on her." I say.
"She forgives you." Carol softly says.
"No, she don't." I shake my head. "She doesn't want to look at me."
"She does. She knows you're grieving, trying to, I don't know what she thinks. But she's giving you all the space you want or need. She's giving you time." She says.
"She doesn't deserve me. Not after I-"
"Then tell her you're sorry. She wants to be with you but she doesn't know how to approach you. She needs you, Daryl. She still loves you. You just gotta...show her you still love her, too." Without another word from me, Carol walks away.
Bobbie's Point of View:
The heard of walkers behind us managed to catch up. Rick stops us at a small bridge and yells everyone to stand in line on each side of the road. We all used our knives to save on ammo. Everyone was prepared, holding their knives in hand, waiting for the walkers to come. We only held our knives for safety. Rick simply wants us to lead the walkers towards us and let them fall down the steep hill where a large trench laid below. We didn't need to use our strength unless we absolutely needed to.
I pushed three walkers down below and turn my head to see Sasha already using her knife to kill one.
"Stay in line. Flank her. Keep it controlled." Rick orders as he pulls his knife out and begins killing the walkers. I go to each walker, one by one, taking them out. I swing my knife out ahead of me and watched the blood pour out. I finally kill it but felt two hands grab me from behind. The snarls rang in my ear as I fought to get it off. Just as I was about to jab my blade into its head, the walker is yanked off of me. I turn back and see Daryl killing it. Silence finally fills the air and I see Sasha on her ass.
