Season 10
Daryl's Point of View:
Carol walks over to the house and she looks around the area. I glance to my left and see the gated area with a little man-made cross for the burial sight. I can hear her voice in my head, tellin me the story of that burial."You comin?" Carol calls to me. I slowly walk towards the house and approached the screened in front patio. The memory of the woman sitting on the stairs petting Dog fills my head. I stopped for a moment, staring. I look inside the home, seeing the door barely hangin on the hinges. It's dark. Quiet. Leaves blown their way into the home. It's completely abandoned. Not that it's a shock. But part of me always wondered if she would ever come back.
I finally stepped inside the home. Carol stood off to the side, inspecting everything. The inside is totally different now than when I last saw it.
"We could stay the night here. Seal up that door." Carol says. Dog trots his way into the only bedroom and I follow him inside. I look inside, seein nothin in here. The bed is gone- everything is. Dog trots around and whines, sniffing the area. I let out a sigh as I pulled the torn up curtain back, looking out the window.
Five Years Ago...
I sat beside the river bank, watching the river flow past by me. The birds chirped in the trees. The light fog floated along with the river. I can hear the crackle of the fire burning just a little ways behind me. I woke up this mornin feelin different than I did before. Ever since Rick went missin, I've been out here searching for him. I've searched miles and miles and still no sign of him. B and I have been broken up for a while now. Times like these, sitting here alone, starin off into space, thoughts just filling my head, makes me wish she were here. She always knew when I was caught up in my head. She always knew how to bring me back.I decided to go hunting while searching for Rick. I didn't find much, not even squirrels or rabbits. It's almost like they've all moved on from the area. After a while of finding nothing, I returned back to my camp.
The sudden sound of a puppy barking makes me pause in my tracks. I turn my head and see a little German Shepherd running towards me. It came to a shock to me to find such a creature like this one running around the woods. I lean down and greet the dog, picking him up in my arms and petting him.
"Where did you come from, huh?" I ask. The puppy licks my face, tail wagging like there ain't no tomorrow. I couldn't help but smile at the sight of the dog. The dog wiggles around and I easily sat it down he takes off running. I enter my little hut I made and placed my backpack and crossbow down. I pull out the map I used to track down Rick and I hang it up on the wall, checking off the places I wanna search next.
I made my way back to the river and see Carol standing on the other side with a bag hanging around her shoulder.
"Hey." I greet. "What's goin on?"
"Nothin." She says.
"You sure?" I ask. She's got short hair down to her shoulders, some of it pulled back.
