M U T E D
Season 9
Bobbie's Point of View:
It's been a while since I've waited for Daryl to come along and meet me for lunch. I grew a little tired and irritable from waiting. I finally decided to get up and go retrieve him, giving him a break from working so hard. It's times like this when I'd have to pull him from working so much. It's not because I want him on a short leash, I just don't wanna risk him passing out from the heat.
Henry happened to be walking around, offering the hard workers some water. He's considered as the water boy. Rick saw it as keeping the workers at ease and not so tense. Nobody is skeptic of the water boy and they aren't nervous. If it were Rick or any of us, everyone would be tensed. Especially around the Saviors.
Henry offers Justin some water. He greatly takes it and drinks his share of water. When Henry tried taking the cup to move on, Justin pulls the cup away. Henry tries reaching again but Justin pushes Henry down, grabbing everyone's attention. I sped up a little faster as I watched Henry get back up and use his stick to knock Justin off his feet. Everyone around let out laughs, a grown ass man getting his ass licked by a kid.
Justin pulls himself up and he locks eyes with Henry, making his way over to him. I found myself jogging and I pull Henry close to me, stepping in front of him, blocking Justin. Justin grabs my wrist and pushes me to the side. Daryl is quick to step in, grabbing Justin.
"Kid's just doin his job. And you touch her again, imma beat your ass into the ground. Get back to work." He growls.
"I don't need your people tellin me what to do. You're not my babysitter anymore." Justin scoffs. Daryl grabs his arm but Justin swings at him. Daryl dodges and he right hooks Justin, knocking him down in the pile of sand. Justin is quick to grab a handful of sand and throws it in Daryl's face, blinding him. Justin quickly gets up and tackles Daryl. I found myself jumping in and wrapping my around Justin neck.
"Get off of him!" A woman shouts. She grabs a fistful of my hair and she yanks me off of Justin. We both break out into a fight. She throws me on the floor and kicks me in the back. I grab her ankle and yanked her down, throwing a few punches at her face. Seconds later, we're both rolling on top of each other, each getting in a few punches. The woman kicks me back and I almost fall off the open part of the bridge. I get back up and tackle the woman on the ground. Everyone around begins yelling at all of us to stop fighting.
"Hey! Hey! Break it up!" I hear Rick. He grabs my small body and pulls me off of her. She's quick to get back up and charges at me but I throw a kick and hit her in the face, knocking her down again.
"Hey! I said enough!" Rick yells. He throws me on the floor and moves on to Daryl, holding him back like a dog before standing between him and Justin. "I said enough! Enough." He growls at Daryl. Daryl wipes his mouth and spits out a mouthful of blood. He walks over to me and helps me up. We both remove ourselves from the bridge.
We walk into the main tent where Rick then meets us inside. He presses hard on Daryl and I for causing a fight to break out.
"She start it." I argue.
"So did Justin. He pushed Henry and threw the first punch. I just ended it." Daryl argues.
"Doesn't matter, that isn't how we all work together." Rick says. Daryl paces back and forth in anger.
"So that asshole jus gets a free pass? Is that it?"
"It's just a few more days. I don't like it, either, but we're in a rush to get that work done. He's strong. The Saviors are over half the workforce, and we've had too many walk off already." Rick says.
