Season 3

Daryl's Point of View:

I hear footsteps around me. I picked my head up and felt dizzy from feelin that blow to the right side of my face. My hands are tied together. I tried using my strength to set myself free, but I couldn't loosen the damn things. It's tight. The doors suddenly bust open and I see two guys grab my body. I fought against them as they lead me through the same hallways we saved Glenn and Maggie from. Eventually, the throw a pillow case over my head.

We're outside now. I can smell wood burning, fires cracking and poppin, along with the nightly bugs makin noise. I then head a voice, a deep one. Must be the governor himself talkin to his people.

"...Because I'm afraid. That's right. I'm afraid of terrorists who want what we have. Want to destroy us! And worse...because one of those terrorists...is one of our own. Merle...the man I counted on, the man I trusted." We stopped moving. I stood still and waited for whatever could happen, listened for some type of sound from Merle.

"He led 'em here. And he let 'em in. It was you. You lied, betrayed us all. This is one of the terrorists." I'm pushed forward and I tried to fight and make a getaway, but the men have a hard grip on me. I then felt a tug to my right and the pillow case is yanked off my face. It's bright around me and it takes a second for my eyes to adjust.

"Merle's own brother!" The man yells. I look at him and see he has a patch over his right eye with fresh blood coming out of it.

"What should we do, huh?" He asks the crowd around us. I look among them and out of all the faces, I saw one familiar. Andrea. She's still alive. Just like Rick said nine months ago, she was somewhere else or she was dead. And now, here she is, alive.

"Kill them!" The crowd chants.

"What? What do you want?!" The governor yells.

"Kill them! Kill them!" The governor turns to Merle and he pushes me to him.

"You wanted your brother. Now you got him." My hands are cut free and I keep my distance from Merle. With everyone chanting for us to be killed, my heart raced, I breathed heavy and my legs shook beneath me. Right now, in this moment, I'm terrified.

"I asked you where your loyalties lie. You said here. Well, prove it. Prove it to us all." The Governor tells Merle. Merle looks at me and he nods his head.

"Brother against brother. Fight to the death. Winner goes free." Give or announces to the crowd. Everyone begins chanting Merle's name. Merle takes the attention and he throws his hand up, smiling at them.

"Ya'll know me! I'm gonna do whatever I gotta do to prove...that my loyalty is to this town!" He kicks me in the stomach and I fall to the ground. I groan in pain. He kicks me again, knocking the wind out of me. I ball up, trying to catch a breath and I look up to see Merle throwing more punches to me. I tried fighting back, but everything I did, all he did was beat me down even more. He walks away, embracing the crowds cheers. Merle leans down, grabs my throat but I punch him in the face. I stand back up, but Merle knocks me down, grabbing my shirt as I grab his throat. I look around me and see walkers surrounding us.

"You really think this assholes gonna let you go?!" I growl at him.

"Just follow my lead, little brother. We're gonna get out of this right now!" He yanks me up and I push a walker back. Everyone holding the walkers move closer, pushing the walkers towards us. Merle and I stood back to back, trying to keep ourselves away from the walkers.
