{Song: Never Be Alone-Shawn Mendes. I was listening to this on repeat whilst writing, and it kinda inspired parts of the chapter, but it just seemed to suite perfectly and it's just a beautiful song.}

Chapter Forty-Seven: Give Us The News.

I fiddled with my fingers, examine each bone like it was actually interesting. I don't think it had been too long, but of corse, it feels like a lifetime. I watched every person that came through. My favourites were the ones when you see a girl in clear distress, but still smiling,whilst holding a bulging belly, whilst her partner looks like they're going to puke, but also have a shine in their eyes. I looked over at a lady, cradling her newborn in her arms, looking at it in complete and utter wonder. I could only see the tiniest peep of a mini foot, and the cutest nose. The woman lightly nudged the babies hand with her finger, and it opened, closing its tiny fist around her finger. Her smile made me smile, no matter how worried I was. She looked up and caught my glance. Instead of looking away, I gave her a small smile. She gave me a small grin back, before turning back to the bundle in her arms. I couldn't help but wonder what it will be like when that's me. Having a kid that is something you created. Holding that tiny little creature in your arms and knowing that it's mine. I saw a man walk from reception over to the lady, sneaking his arms around her, resting his head on her shoulder and peering down at his child. He looked so proud.

I was startled when somebody hit me on the arm. I looked across, scowling at Ryan who was still whacking my arm. He glared a little back, before pointing. I followed his finger to see the a doctor walking towards us. She had brunette hair tighed in a tight ponytail, and he face was withdrawn and look highly professional, but her brown eyes were soft, and I guess trustworthy. My mom stood up straight away.

"Are you Trevor Spurts family?" She asked, glancing down at her clip board, obviously checking if she had the right name. My mom nodded eagerly. She held out a hand, giving us a warm smile.

"Hi, I'm Doctor Trian or you can just call me Olivia." Mom shook her hand.

"What's wrong?" Mom asked anxiously. Olivia took a peek at the clipboard again.

"Well, so far we can't find anything, at least not with just regular procedures. We are planning on keeping him over night and performing a CT scan on him tomorrow, because we think the reaction may have something to do with the brain. He is conscious again, and we are moving him into a visiting ward, but it's only family members, but I assume you all are?" We nodded, hanging on each word.

"What do you think caused it? Like what could happen in the brain to cause his reaction?" Ryan asked with a frown. Olivia looked a little hesitant.

"We can't be 100% sure until the scan, but has he complained of headaches recently or had slow speech, almost like he's zone out and couldn't remember what he was saying or even possible dizzy spells?" My heart leapt a little, and I turned to mom.

"Didn't he come home early today because he was complaining about a headache?" I asked her, and she paled. She looked at Olivia in fear.

"He said it felt more like a migraine." Olivia nodded, and wrote something down, muttering to herself.

"What would that mean?" She looked at Ryan, looking once again as if she didn't wanna say anything. She sighed.

"Personally, I think there may be a chance he has developed a brain tumour, but don't worry, it could only be early stages of it, and it also depends on what type it is and whether it's cancerous or not and what part of the brain it is affecting.They are also easily removed by surgery and some radiation therapy, so if he does, there is a high chance that it will turn out ok." Mom grasped my hand and I gave it a light squeeze. Olivia glanced at our hands and gave us a sympathetic smile, before gesturing behind her.
