Chapter Thirty-Five: The Dreaded Christmas Shopping

I stared at the bustling people hurrying around the store like maniacs. I probably look like an idiot standing just inside the door, internally freaking out because the moment I walk through the door, each present I had plan for managed to sweep itself out of my head. How did I get here? Why an I doing this? I softly shook my head, earning a strange look from a man who was leaving, before walking forward. It's not like a huge group of people truly alarmed me in a way, well maybe a horde of angry Christmas shoppers, it cause there the store so big, making me feel small. I decided to start with my Secret Santas, my Uncle Jack and Aidan. Surprisingly, I'm ok buying for guys. Probably cause I'm used to buying for my brother and dad, and since I'm involved with family secret Santa, I somehow always end up with an uncle or a guy cousin. I don't know why. I walked into the bustle, nearly more scared then being in here on Black Friday, but I managed to push through. After searching, I got Aidan a figurine of Princess Leia in the bikini she wears when she's been kidnapped by the Huts. I swear, every nerd of geeky guy gets some kinky pleasure out of her in that costume. I guess it's like woman liking policemen or firemen strippers.

I got Uncle Jack an 'Grumpy Old Man' t-shirt and a gift card for a golf store that I visited earlier. I then got immediate family their presents for Christmas morning. I brought mom some of her favourite perfume she was running out of, Ryan got a gift card to a video game store. I was totally lost to what I need to get my dad. I stood in the middle of the mall, looking at each of the stores around me, hoping something would jump out at me. My eyes fell on a record store, and I felt like I hit the jackpot. I strolled in, liking the style of the shop. They played good music from the speakers. It felt home like, welcoming. A guy with short red hair, pushed to the side, revealing the shaved half of his head, stood behind the main desk. He had black stretchers in his ears, and a few tattoos spiralled across his arms, and his face looked open and happy. He smiled widely at me when I walked in, making me smile back.

"Hi, how are you today?" He voice was high and cheery. My brain instantly said he was gay, but I wouldn't say it out loud. Better to not label someone unless you know for sure. Like asking someone if they're pregnant is not a good idea.

"I'm great thank you, and you?" I asked, as I moved towards classic rock. I heard the guy move towards me.

"I'm splendid. Would you like some help?" I looked up at him, as he gave me a smile you'd expect to see come from a puppy. I glanced at his name tag, reading "Steve" on it. I gave him a warm smile back.

"Yeah, that would be great actually. I'm trying to get my dad a Christmas present, and I know he loves vinyls. He obviously is into classic rock, stuff like that." I explained. Steve nodded, his fingers rubbing his chin, as if he had an invisible beard.

"What main artists does he listen to?" He asked, as he flicked between the stack of vinyls.

"Well, I know he has some Chilli Peppers, Stones, some Led and I think Bon Jovi." I placed my other bags on the ground and started flicking through the self next to Steve. He hummed as he flicked.

"Hmm, how about some Pink Floyd?" Steve asked, holding up the cover with a rainbow shooting through a triangle. I gasped nodding.

"Perfect." I said, as I noticed another under my fingers. I pulled it out. It had a smiley face with x's as eyes.

"He also loves Nirvana." I mumbled to myself, my eyes flicking between the two vinyls. I saw Steve give me a devious smile.

"If you buy both, I'll give you a discount and you become your fathers favourite child." I raised an eyebrow at him.

"What if I'm an only child?" Steve, held out the vinyl to me.

"Are you an only child?"

"No."
