Chapter Six: Bitter Sweet Coffee and Enchanting Smiles.
I fiddled with my hands while I stood at the front of the tiny diner. I could smell the sea air, knowing the beach was somewhere around the corner. I have a soft spot for my home town of San Diego. I don't know if it was the sunny skies, or the sweet salty air. I didn't know if I should go in, but I decided it would be more polite to wait for him.
"Catherine?" I turned to see him walking towards me. His brown hair curly today. I'm taking that's it's natural state. He wore a baseball shirt, that hugged his chest and a pair of skinny jeans with holes in the knees. He had a dazzling smile. I smiled up at him. He stopped in front of me. His hands in his pockets. Good, I don't have to deal with the awkward hello hug.
"Hey Vic." I replied. He nodded his head towards the diner.
"C'mon." I was ever so flattered when he held the door open for me. I gave him a smirk and raised an eyebrow.
"What a gentleman." I teased him. He gave me a small bow and a dramatic gesture to enter. I gave a small laugh and walked inside. We took a seat near a window in a private little booth. I liked this diner, it kinda reminded me of one of this 80's one you see in the movie, just less poodle skirts. A girl who look rather tired came to us.
"Welcome to Georgians Diner, what can I get you?" She looked bored. Vic gave me a sideways look, asking me what I wanted with his eyes. I frowned thinking for a moment.
"Uhh, could I please get an ice coffee with extra whipped cream?" She nodded and scribbled on her pad.
"Make that two please." Vic added on. The waitress gave us a small smile.
"I'll be back with your drinks soon." She sauntered off and I turned to face Vic. He looked up catching my eyes. They were a sweet brown. God I'm like obsessed with his eyes.
"So?" I asked, with a nervous laugh. He gave me a crooked smile.
"So."
"Your in the music biz?" I questioned, resting my chin on my hands, resting my elbows on the table. Something in his face lit up at the mention of it.
"Yeah, me and my mates are working on different demos, trying really hard to get noticed." I quirked an eyebrow.
"Oh really?" He nodded enthusiastically.
"Yeah, we play a few gigs and clubs and bars and stuff. Obviously, send out demos and shit like that, just hoping someone likes our style."
"We? Are you part of a band?" I guess that's a pretty obvious question, but he could be a solo artist.
"Yeah, I'm the main vocals. And those other guys the other day, they're obviously the rest. Tony is our guitarist, Jaime is bass and my brother Mike is drums." I nodded.
"So you sing?" Your ticking all the boxes so far. He gave me a shy smirk.
"Yeah, I do. What about you? Well, obviously you dance. Do you do anything else." I really wanted to keep the conversation about him. I was highly interested in this band of his.
"Yeah, I dance and I play a bit of piano." I held back a bit, he didn't need to know my all inspiring journey about wanted to become a known artist. I tried to steer the conversation to him again.
"Do you have a name for your band?" I asked quickly, before he could ask me another question. I saw his small smile, as he realised I was keeping the spotlight on him.
"We recently decided on Pierce The Veil." I felt my eyes widen. That's actually a freaking epic name.
"That's pretty sick. What type of music do you play?" Please be rock, please be rock. He nibbled on his bottom lip.
