Chapter Thirty-Eight: A Christmas Surprise
I frowned at the rainbow gummy bear in front of me as it started reciting Christmas carols. It suddenly jumped at me and I opened my mouth to screech as I jumped awake in my bed, to find Vic standing over me, jumping up and down jostling me.
"CAT, CAT IT'S CHRISTMAS WAKE UP." I looked up at him, glaring considering my heart was pounding so hard. He stopped jumping, his feet on either side of me, as he stood above me. He grinned, wiggling his eyebrows at me.
"Really?" I questioned, rubbing the heel of my hand on my eyes, feeling my eyelashes crunch under them as I stopped.
"Shit, I didn't take off my make up last night. I probably have panda eyes." Vic shrugged at me, jiggling his legs making me body bounce on the bed.
"Pandas are cute anyway." He looked down at me, the dopey smile still on his face, as he cocked his head to the side, like a curious dog. He looked so cute with his hair all tangled and his t-shirt rumpled from sleep. I couldn't help but let a huge fond smile spread over my face. The door then burst open and Ryan tumbled through the door.
"Thank god, I though the bed moving was you two getting funky. C'mon it's Christmas." He then disappeared as quickly as he had hurtled through the door. I looked up at Vic, who still looking at the doorway in curiosity.
"How does anybody have that much energy in the morning." I raised an eyebrow.
"Says you?" He looked down at me, cracking a grin, before starting to jump again, with me squealing and shrieking with laughter. I went to grab his legs but he tried to avoid it, causing him to loose balance and fall straight off the bed. I laughed so hard, I was crying and I felt like I was going to vomit.
"Owwww." He whined from the ground. I threw back the blankets, getting off the bed.
"C'mon Vic, it's Christmas." I mocked in a high voice, I held out my hands, pulling him to his feet. He made a sneaky kiss on my nose, as I twirled around his hand, before running ahead, racing down the stairs. I burled into my mom, yelling Merry Christmas. She gave me a kiss on the cheek, saying it back. I then jumped at dad, and he grunted as I collided with him.
"Merry Christmas baby girl." He murmured, patting my hair. I then moved to Ryan, who I gave a disgusted look, before he yelled.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS LITTLE SIS." And tackled me into a huge hug, tickling my sides making me squeal. Vic had a more subtle way of wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. I clapped my hands together.
"I think presents." Dad chuckled, nodding, gesturing his head at the living room. I practically skipped in there. I sat on the couch, eyeing the presents that were scattered under the tree. I took notice of a big noticeable one at the back, and smirked. Vic sat right next to me, and I laid my legs over his. We started with Santa presents, which I ended up with four new books, a Sarah Dessen book, and this trilogy called The Hunger Games which sounded interesting. Also got a beautiful necklace and more perfume. I got a few little things here and there from Ryan. Dad then picked up the big obvious one from the back, grinning as he did so.
"Hmm, I wonder who this is to. To Vic from Cat." He looked at me his eyes huge.
"You didn't." I grinned at him.
"But I did." Dad laid the obvious shaped object on his lap.
"No way, no way, no way." Vic kept repeating as he ripped away the wrapping revealing a glistening acoustic guitar. He stared at it like he had just found a gold nugget. His huge eyes laid back on me, his mouth wide, but no words managed to come out. He reached forward, pulling me into a tight hug.
"Wow. Thank you, so much." Was all he said, as he crushed me.
"You're welcome." He pulled back, and I gave him a quick kiss on the lips, keeping PDA very minimal around family. He admired the guitar, running his fingers up and down the neck. Dad was also very amazed by his vinyls, and the room smelled off moms perfume. Now there was only one thin present under the tree. Dad picked it up and Vic slightly shifted next to me. Dad grinned, holding it out to me.
"To Kitty from Vic." Ryan snorted.
"Kitty?" I glared at him.
"Shut up Ryan." I took the tiny present from dad, glancing at Vic, who was watching me intently. He had a tiny smile on his face, and mom and dad were both also staring at me. I assume its because its the last present of the morning. I turned a little, so I faced Vic as I carefully ripped off the wrapping to reveal an envelope. I raised an eyebrow at Vic, flipping open the envelope.
"What would this be?" I said, a little teasingly. I pulled out a piece of paper. I unfolded it, glancing at Vic once, who nervously licked his lips. Silently, feeling everyone's eyes on me, my eyes scanned the paper. At first I read it with a smile, but my smile slowly slipped off my face, as my eyes grew wide. My spare hand slapped itself over my mouth, as I started to cry.
"Oh my god." My voice came out in a broken wail. I started to sob.
"You brought me an apartment." I asked him, my voice shaking. Ryan looked completely gobsmacked. Mom and dad were smiling like idiots. Vic gave me a shy smile.
"Technically I brought us an apartment." I threw myself into his arms, crying hard into his shoulders. He laughed softly, his arms around my waist. I clung to him as I caught my breath from crying. I was half laughing too. I pulled back, sniffing, my hand still over my mouth, as I read the paper again.
"We have an apartment." I breathed in disbelieve. I looked at mom, who was teary too at my reaction. I looked at dad, who shamelessly cried, nodding at me. I looked back at Vic, who had a look like he won the lottery.
"Oh my god. I love you so much." Was all I could choke out. I fanned my hand in front of my face, trying to dry my tears.
"Oh god. We're gonna live together. Oh my god." I hugged him again, and he laughed a little louder. He buried his face in my shoulder
"I love you too." He spoke softly. I pulled back, literally bouncing up and down on the couch.
"Oh my god, oh my god, we have a house together, oh my god." I squealed. Dad was laughing at me and Ryan gave off a cheeky I'm the corner of my eye.
"Somebody is so getting laid tonight." I heard a pillow hit Ryan.
"Ryan." Mom scolded him, but I just laughed. I look at Vic, my mouth wide open, as I exhaled deeply. He looks back at me, his eyes burning and crinkled as he smiled hugely at me.
"Do you like it?" He asked timidly. I was a little breathless.
"I love it, so much." And I couldn't help but hold him against me so tight, as my mind started to piece together, we were starting a life together. Like, it was a huge step but I didn't realise I was ready to take it. But now that's its here, I feel like I was already reaching for it. Maybe, just maybe, this will be a little piece of a possible forever.
"Where on earth did you come from." I accidentally whispered out loud. His shoulders shook with a silent look.
"I don't know, but I think I'm figuring out where I'm going."

Short, but cute.
So, today at the local library, and I needed to print off some homework, but I didn't know how, and mum kept telling me to get the librarian, and I nearly burst out crying simply because I had to go get the librarian and ask her. Is that social anxiety?¿ or a form of it, cause it kinda freaks me out. And like, mum trying to put me in to get a job at Maccas, but I don't want to work there mostly cause it means serving like heaps of random strangers, same reason I'm nervous about working at Coles. And I generally hate ordering food or anything cause I feel like a dick and usually fuck up while talking and then I feel super embarrassed. Or am I just super shy?????
I've been super stressed, because school work is overwhelming me at the moment, and it's only the start of Year 10 :s OH MY GOD AND JORDAN SWEETO RANDOMLY DM'ED ME ON TWITTER.
QOTD: Favourite artist at this moment?
AOTD: Probably Hozier, I've been obsessed with his music so much lately.
