Chapter Ten: The Thin Line Between 'Just Friends'.

I placed my spoon in my mouth thoughtfully, as I licked off all the whipped cream. I pulled it out and tapped my nose lightly with it.

"Hmm, my greatest fear." I continued thinking as Vic patiently waited, sipping at his iced-coffee.

"Probably ducks." Vic choked on the sip he just took, spitting coffee all over the table as he burst out laughing. I looked down in disgust at the milk covering the table as Vic was literally laying sideways on his booth seat, clutching his stomach. I could see people watching us as Vic battled for breath. I kicked his shin under the table, but he continued laughing, now he just held his shin too.

"Vic, it's not that funny. Stop people are staring." I hissed. He sat up and wiped tears from his eyes.

"You're scared of ducks?" He choked out. I glared at him.

"They're creepy mother fuckers." I whispered menacingly. He started laughing again, but he laugh was contagious, causing me to start giggling. Hey it's childish but who cares.

"Stop being mean. And clean up your spit coffee, it's disgusting." He wiped his mouth, before grabbing a pile of napkins and started moping up the mess on the table. He was still chuckling shaking his heads. He looked up, his eyes twinkling.

"Ducks, really?" I scowled at him.

"I have bad history with them. Never am I ever going to feed duckies with my dad again." I could see him attempting not to laugh, his lips trembling. I sighed.

"Go on laugh." I crossed my arms over my chest, looking stubbornly out the window. He clicked his tongue.

"Aww, come on, don't be like that Kitty." My head whipped around and I frowned.

"Kitty?"

"Cause your name is Cat, so I thought of little kitty cats so, I'm gonna call you Kitty from now on." It was my turn to start laughing. He have me a cute crooked grin. I shook my head at him, giving him a warm smile.

"God, you're such an idiot."

"Oh, I nearly forgot, we have a gig coming up on Thursday, I was wondering if you would like to come." My interests perked up instantly.

"Really?" He nodded, obviously please with my reaction. I grinned widely.

"Of corse I would. I haven't actually heard you play before." I added excitedly, I started clapping my hands together like an over exaggerated teenager. He laughed at my childish excitement.

"I'm sure we're not that good." He said, nervously licking his lips.

"Well that's for me to judge on Thursday." I teased. He looked down at his drink with a smile. He scooped up some extra cream with his spoon, before giving me a devilish look and flicking it straight at me. Cream flew up, hitting my eye. I cried out in surprise, my hand flying to my eye. Perfect time for blinking, considering it only hit my eyelid, but it was enough to shock me.

"Oh my god, shit Cat, I'm sorry." Vic panicked, reaching across, softly grabbing my wrist.

"Is it bad." He asked softly. I tried to keep a straight face, he deserved this.

"Ow, no, fuck it hurts." I whimpered trying to hold back giggles. He tried to peel my hands back. I turned away, hiding my massive smile.

"Oh my god, I'm so so sorry. It was suppose to be a joke." He got out of his seat sliding on next to me.

"Well it wasn't funny."

"Let me see." He urged, trying to pull my hands from my face.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He kept repeating over and over again. I couldn't hold it in anymore. I burst out laughing, leaning my head back.
