Chapter 39

I woke up the next morning to see clothes already put out for me. I changed into the clothes but felt as if something was off. I open the door to the main room to be shocked. My bags are packed. No, I didn't think he would be going this early. I look over to meet Rebekah's eyes and she just nods. I'm leaving New Orleans. "Oh thank god, you haven't left yet" I say as I'm running towards Klaus. I wrap my arms around him tightly. "I was getting worried you wouldn't wake up in time for me to say goodbye" Klaus explains back. I follow Klaus out to his car and don't let go of his hand. He bends down and kisses my stomach. "I love you, come back to me okay" I exclaim with tears in my eyes. I kiss Klaus for the last time and watch him walk away from me. "I'll come back for you love," then he gets in his car and drives away. I walk back into the house and nod. "Let's go" I declare and walk back outside.

Months later

It's been four months since I left New Orleans. I have been living in a house by a lake. It's been peaceful. No one to bother us. Rebekah and I have been spending so much time together with the other man in the house. This time around Klaus did call me, he wrote me letters. He should be coming for one night. Being tonight. I'm due any day now. My stomach got so big I felt so fat. Davina came and visited us, more like to check up on me and my daughter. "I can't wait to meet you, Faith" I mutter down to my stomach. "REBEKAH" I bellow as a sharp pain strikes me. "REBEKAH" I scream even louder. No it's not time. He's not here yet. Rebekah comes running up to see me in pain. Then my face falls. "My water just broke," I said plainly. This is going to be long painful hours.

I have been in labour for hours. Painful hours, contractions are a bitch. Rebekah hasn't left my side since I called her. I squeeze her hand as another sharp pain happens. "Elena I think you're going to be a mum real soon" Rebekah is checking how far away until the baby comes. "He's not here" I shout.

"Who's not here" tears are rolling down my face as I look at who just walked into the room. Klaus. Klaus comes to my side and holds my hand. I scream as the pain gets worse. "You came," I exclaim. "Focus on your breathing" Klaus instructs me as I try to breathe in and out. "Elena I need you to start pushing for me" I do what I'm told but holy shit it hurts. "You're doing great love" more positive comments are sent my way but it all stops at one sound. The cries of a baby. Rebekah cuts the cord and wraps my baby girl up. Now in my arms is my baby girl. "Hi there Faith Jenna Mikealson, you really put me through hell but you're so worth it" I talk to this little child in my arms. Klaus is right beside me looking at his daughter. "Get some rest Elena, I'll be here when you wake up" it didn't take long for my eyes to close.

I woke up feeling different. Right, I'm a mum. I get out of bed only to feel pain. I guess labour will cause after effects. I slowly walk out of my room and see Klaus with our child in his arms. "She's something alright," Klaus murmurs to me. He hands Faith over to me and kisses me on the cheek. "Thank you for being here, I know you must leave right about now but thank you Klaus" I acknowledge him before he turns away from me and walks out the door. I don't know when Faith will see her father again. I don't even know when I'll see him again.

Kol pov

My sister I felt bad for. Seeing her with my brother's child made me wish she could have her own. It's been another 4 months since Faith was born, except this time Klaus hasn't called in over a month. Elena has grown worried but Faith preoccupies her. Marcel came over this morning and will be staying with us for a few days. Having a baby around sure makes things different.

Elena pov

I have been stressing out because of Klaus. There's a loud noise that strikes my door. I make my way to the door and open it to see a random person standing there. "Can I help you?" I question. "Aurora wanted you to get these in person, have a good day Miss Mikaelson" shit Aurora, she's found me. Miss Mikaelson? Where is Klaus? I go to the table and place the black box on the table. There is also an envelope. I open the black box to be speechless. It's a ring. I slip the diamond gold band ring onto my marriage finger to understand what this is. It's from Klaus, wait then why did Aurora send me this. I slice the envelope open and read the note first.
