War and Earth were dropped off at Pat's house. War wanted to come alone but Earth didn't want to especially since he knew what War would tell Pat.

"Here is your tea" -Pat said to War and touched his head. War smiled at him. The same tea that he drinks when he sees Pat. The same tea he dislikes but still drinks.

"I have improved my cooking skills" -Pat said seasoning some chicken. His activities have been kind of helpful for him.

"That's good. Let me make some lemonade" -Earth said. He looked at War several times but War didn't seem nervous. He looked confident which worried Earth.

"How is school?" -Pat asked War. They would text a lot and Pat would ask the same thing but he still liked hearing about War's days.

"It is good. Yin and I want to join a club since we are done with our sports" -War said smiling. Their sport season was over so they had to find something to do.

"Yin? Don't you have other friends?" -Pat said cooking the chicken. Earth and War looked ar each other.

"What do you mean?" -War said confused.

"Yin is older than you. You should have friends your age. And Yin is your cousin." -Pat said. He always treated Yin differently.

"Yin isn't my cousin" -War said which made Pat turn around to look at him.

"He is your cousin" -Pat said looking at him suspiciously. War lowered his face.

"Grandpa---" -War was going to say.

"Enough. Lets not talk about other people. Lets just finish cooking so we can eat." -Pat said. He had an idea already. War would always talk about Yin like he was the world ever since he was a child.

"Grandpa, Yin is my boyfriend" -War let it out. Earth widened his eyes. He looked at Pat who put the spatula down and turned around to look at him.

"Yin is your cousin and he is a boy" -Pat said. He didn't raise his voice. His mind couldn't process what War just said.

"He is my boyfriend" -War said softly looking at his own hands afraid of his grandfather's glare.

"You can't be dating anyone. You are just 14." -Pat said to War. He then turned around to look at Earth. His look towards Earth was completely different. He could feel Earth tense up but still glared at him enough.

"I see your parent skills aren't improving. How can you let him say such things?" -Pat said to Earth. Earth sighed. He was really critisizing Earth's parent skills when he himself was a bad parent.

"This is his decision. Dating someone isn't bad, Pat" -Earth said defending War. He wouldn't let Pat insult them. He was ready to answer in any way.

"I don't agree with this" -Pat said and turned around to keep cooking the chicken. His head was full of memories of Earth coming out to him years ago.

"Grandpa, please don't be mean. I could have kept it a secret but I am telling you because I wanted you to be happy for me." -War said standing up next to Pat giving him those puppy eyes.

"You could date anyone, anyone. Even a girl if you want or if you like a boy maybe North. He is a good kid but Yin? Yin is your cousin." -Pat said with a normal voice. He looked at War, grabbed his face and smiled. Earth was in disbelief, Pat wasn't furious or acting irrationally like when he came out. Pat thought about it carefully, he hated the idea of War being gay but he had to learn to control it.

"Yin is a wonderful kid" -Earth said. He wouldn't allow Pat talk bad about Yin like he did about Kao. And the way he said about North reminded him of how he talked about Tay.

"Grandpa, Yin is really good to me." -War said with a soft voice. He knew Pat had a soft spot for him.

"My boy, you are young. You should finish school first." -Pat said with a smile. He wouldn't mistreat War in any way. He was his angel.

"I will finish school but I will also be Yin's boyfriend" -War said. Pat kept mixing the food in the bowl.

"Grandpa. Don't be mad." -War said in a soft voice. He grabbed Pat's arm. Pat turned around to look at him. He still wanted to keep telling War that Yin isn't the correct person. His love for War was keeping his thoughts under control. If he agreed to them dating then War would be happy and he wouldn't hate him like Earth once did.

Earth and War were still waiting for Pat's answer. Pat turned off the stove and served the food.

"We should eat already" -Pat said instead of answering the other thing. Earth was getting annoyed and War was impatient.

"Stop avoiding it. Yin and War are dating. War wanted to let you know." -Earth said with a serious tone. Pat took the plates to place them on the table. He sat down and signalled War and Earth to sit and eat.

Earth sat down after War did. They ate quietly, Pat still didn't say a word which was worrying War. He thought his grandfather could accept him, he still had hope.

"Grandpa" -War was going to say something but stopped when Pat looked at him. His fierce look could scare anyone.

"It is your choice who you date but I don't want to know about it" -Pat said taking a deep breath. He continued eating without looking at any of them. War didn't know what to say. Pat was agreeing but he felt a not in his stomach. How can he not be involved? How would it be when Yin and Pat are in the same room?

--------------
"That wasn't what I was expecting" -War told Earth once they were at their house. Pat told them that it was time for them to leave when they were done eating.

"What were you expecting? For him to congratulate you and invite Yin over for that horrible tea?" -Earth said sarcastically. He turned around to look at a sad War.

"Listen" -Earth got closer to War and touched his shoulders. "Your grandfather isn't an expressive person. At least he didn't disagree. He already knows that you are with Yin, that is good." -Earth said trying to make War feel better. He gave him a forehead kiss and went to Kao's home office.

War didn't know how to feel anymore. He wanted his grandpa to feel happier for him. Yin is the person he loves and his grandpa didn't sound supportive at all. Earth never had any support whatsoever, so he understood War's feelings but he didn't get why War wanted Pat's approval that bad. War only needed his parents and that is it.

"What happened?" -Kao asked Earth. He was worried when they left to Pat's house.

"Nothing." -Earth said because nothing actually happened. Earth sat on Kao's lap.

"What is it?" -Kao noticed something was wrong. Earth hugged him and sighed. He felt safe with Kao. He couldn't imagine himself without him or War. What could have happened if he didn't forgive Kao when he came back to his life?

"I just-- I just thought more of Pat again. He hasn't changed." -Earth said with a sad tone. Although Pat didn't through a big argument and was mean, he still had that disgust look towards the fact the another member of hus family liked men.

"It will be ok. He loves War too much to just cut him off." -Kao said trying to make Earth feel better. He grabbed him by the waist and made him open his legs to sit down on his lap in a different position. Kao kissed him softly. He hated to see Earth sad because of Pat.

"mmm" -Earth moaned softly when Kao started kissing his neck.

"Pa!" -War screamed from the living room which made Earth immediately stand up.

"What is it?" -Kao answered laughing. Earth sighed. He didn't want his kid to see them in that positon.

"Can I go see Yin?" -War said walking in the home office. Kao could only nod. It was already a hard day for War and Yin could make him feel better. Earth smiled, Kao was slowly getting use to the boys dating.
