Cousins

Part 54

—--Some years later—-
"You are here again?" -Pat asked Yin. He sat down a couple of seats from him.

"You are here too" -Yin said without looking at him. He signaled for the bartender to serve him another drink.

"Go home. Sober up." -Pat said and paid Yin's tab. Yin sighed and stood up to leave.

He got home and went immediately to bed. He got an apartment when he graduated college. He only went one year to college since his Uncle Kao wanted him to work at the company already. He would be taking over one day after all.

He found a bar that he liked a few weeks ago and without knowing he would go every day. He just wanted somewhere to relax and have a nice drink. He saw Pat a few days ago and now Pat goes everytime he is there and tells him the same thing "go home. Sober up." It annoyed him to see Pat but he liked that bar and the people there would just mind their business until Pat came obviously.

"Did you talk to Yin today?" -Fluke asked Ohm while they had dinner. Ohm nodded.

"He is making arrangements for the auction so he is busy. This is his first big event, don't crowd him." -Ohm said. Fluke rolled his eyes. Kao and Ohm put Yin in charge of his first big event in order to get him used to handling important matters. Fluke wasn't trying to crowd or overwhelm Yin. War would be back soon and Fluke just wanted to make sure his son was okay.

"I'm just worried. They haven't seen each other in a year and you know how last time went." -Fluke said, touching his forehead. He and Earth had been talking about how to handle the situation. Last time the boys saw each other they had a big fight about their breakup years ago. They both weren't over it and it was very clear.

"They'll be fine." -Ohm said, trying to make Fluke feel at ease. It was hard to tell how it would go.
War decided to study in Japan. He left before he could finish high school so Yin and him didn't see each other often. Earth was the one to convince Kao to let War go study abroad. It would be better for him since he was too dependent on his feelings for Yin and the breakup caused War to be angry and sad all the time. War could get a fresh start in a new place.

Earth flew War back home for the holidays. He could feel War not wanting to be home much since he had to see Yin. War agreed to paint a mural for his dad's company. The charity event would be soon, the auction was paintings and they wanted something painted for the guests to see as they walked in. War was hesitant in doing it but Earth convinced him to. Earth had already retired from the company and left his position to Yin. He wanted to retire long ago. Now he could attend his garden and go see War whenever he wanted to.

"Are you ready? We have to leave in 5 minutes." -Kao knocked on War's door. War sighed, grabbed his bag with the paints and opened the door to walk downstairs. He didn't want to run into Yin at the company.

"Good luck"- Earth said with a smile and War only nodded.

They go to the company and War immediately went to the hall where the event will be. He prepared everything to get started but he was still scared that he would run into Yin. He couldn't see his face without feeling all this anger at him.

"Tell Yin to come to me when he arrives please" -Kao told his secretary. He knew Yin would have everything ready for the event but he still wanted to discuss some things with him.

Yin got to his uncle's office as soon as he was told.
"Good Morning" -Yin said opening the door. He put some documents on Kao's desk and sat down.

"Are you ready? Do you have your introduction speech ready?"- Kao asked and Yin only nodded. He knew War was in the company and he knew that business wasn't the only thing Kao called him for.
