ENZO EFSERYAN(FREDDIE MERCURY) IS A PROMISING MOVIE ACTOR WHO IS AT A CROSSROADS IN LIFE WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND PAULINE AMOS (MARY AUSTIN). APPARENTLY THE END OF IT ALL, IT WILL BE JUST THE BEGINNING OF A NEW LIFE FOR THE ACTOR.
MY PARTICULAR HOMAGE TO...
It was advisable to find a balance between what's good for Enzo and Enzo's achings. Sometimes treating with him was very complicated and those who really cared about him, must face a million times his impatient child rude remarks not being able to reason.
Life had given him a lot of new chances with his health and he took advantage to squeeze himself in his work. He was a real acting animal and he didn't do what he really liked since such a long time. He rebelled against the time, he was hungry like a thin fox walking around a high security henhouse.
Enzo thought his husband's liver suited him so well that was a brand new man and able to the riskiest battles. Pauline was still seeing things quite differently. Of course she could still see him acting and making great things on movies but according to her, Enzo must calm down and following doctor Deacon's recommendations. That drove them without helping to arguments and fightings.
Everybody was in favour of Pauline and against Enzo, therefore Marygold Alley was a minefield for quite a while where his only allies for Mr. Frustrated were his cats.
- Tell me any director could fight just to have me -Enzo said in one of their meetings.
- Do you want me to lie to you? I'm lying to you if you like.
Oh, gosh. Pauline and her asertivity. Sometimes it was really hard hearing the sheer truth. That's why precisely he needed her so by his side. As he needed his husband, his closest friends, his family. Because everyone had something in common, they would never tell him what he wanted to hear just to please him. They were gonna force him fiercely to the most inescapable balance.
- Then you're telling me nobody remember me and I should find me another job. Well, maybe it's really useful having a degree in graphics after all.
- Enzo, listen to me. I haven't told you that thing you've just spurt out with rage. How can they fight for you if you've been out of the public eye and show business almost two years?
- Ok, fight is not the verb.
- Good, I like that. You acknowledge not being right with your words.
- Are you gloating over my clumsiness?
- A little bit, yes.
- Oh, darling. I'm dying of restlessness. Try to understand me. The normal thing would be the directors would fight for me.
- That's past. Right now nobody gives a damn about your Oscar, your two Golden globes, your Olivier. They don't care you are one of the biggest box-office draw actors. Right now you're a man recovering from a liver transplant...
- I'm recovered. The boxes of condomns increasingly diminishing in the store guaranteed that.
- God, Enzo. Don't be filthy...
- I'm not filthy. I'm telling you again I'm a recovered man and ready for the battle.
- Well, the first thing we should do is seduce the show business. I would start from there.
- Oh... do you think I could seduce them? Would I be able? -his eyes glowed, betraying that sudden false modesty.
