While Tarek worked tiredlessly in the garden updating it, he thought he really walked into that one once more. He was again back in Marygold Alley. The reflection and separation period he had forced him into, finished when he decided to and for his own reasons. And Tarek went back to where he belonged, as Enzo liked to say, possesively.

There Enzo stood, calling his attention from the bedroom window, waving his hands and blowing passionate kisses. And what did Tarek do? Turning around stunned with his hysterical little screams and returning his kisses with his flushed cheeks like a teenager.

Maybe in other stage of his life, he wouldn't do things this way. He would never let him alone with his distress about losing Lolo but surely he would choose to come back to his parent's home. He would keep the pulse no matter how he acted. The reason that drove him to keep apart from him didn't change because he didn't change. It didn't matter if he could move him, turn him on and put his heart on flames, it didn't change his point of view. Enzo kept on with his fanatic and radical vision about his cancer and that could fall themselves apart. That's why Tarek trusted challenging and denying him his presence, it could help to let him think cooly.

Enzo was very intelligent but deeply emotional. He had his vision very clear about his liver cancer. He didn't want to submit himself to more experiments. After the hepatectomy and the ablation, it was enough. He knew Tarek thought just the opposite and that was the reason to drifting apart. That drove his husband to get away and "punish him" with the separation.

Alright, he had punished him. Not only he had punished him bodily just not having him every day by his side. He punished his pride, his patience. Just what Tarek wanted him to be. Lolo's missing was not a trick to make him come back to him. It was just that his cats were his children and they must face together whatever his pet could happen.

And when he was again in Marygold Alley promised him truly manage himself to not let him go. But everything he had done to retain him wasn't product of his performing talent.

The desperation tears were real. They were the obvious trigger of all the accumulated tension and he couldn't miss the opportunity to hold into that beloved body.

Then, of course, he was again afraid that he came back to Eastbourne and restarted his punishment. But Tarek let himself go by his emotions and decided to stay.

He forgot consciously the reasons to leave and he clasped on the reasons to stay. Only his love for Enzo. Not asking himself questions as he should be. Just paying attention to his own emotions. Loving and being loved.

But he knew that at any moment his emotions would take its toll, as it usually did. Sometimes loving with that intensity wasn't enough for a couple. They must make their stand, accept the challenges, being faithful to themselves.

Tarek didn't want Enzo thought he had won the war. He might win one of the battles, but much remained to be done. Yes, he had stayed swearing he wouldn't leave again but that was not enough for Tarek. He wanted more.
