BY THE NEXT MORNING, the remaining four siblings followed the lead of the beavers, who offered themselves to be their guide through the unknown land of Narnia.
They climbed through the enormous mountains, careful to not slip in the snow when they spotted a gigantic cliff side far away from where they stood, and Diana admired it with curiosity.
"Now, Aslan's camp is near the Stone Table just across the frozen river," the beaver pointed downwards towards the unmoving river.
"River?" Peter asked.
"The river's been frozen solid for a hundred years," Mrs. Beaver reassured, still, looks of uncertainty passed through the group.
"It's so far," Peter muttered.
"It's the world, dear. Did you expect it to be small?" asked Mrs. Beaver.
"Smaller," replied Susan while glaring at her brother, walking away.
Diana shook her head in disapproval and held onto Lucy's hand and trailed behind the beavers, checking to see if Peter was following right behind them.

DIANA'S FEET FELT sore from walking for a long time, especially since she was out in the freezing cold with nothing but a long coat to cover her.
With every step she took, she noticed how it left a footprint behind in the snow along with the others' shoes, and it worried her somehow, scared that it might be a track for whomever was following them.
"Come on, humans! While we're still young," Mr. Beaver looked back.
"If he tells us to hurry one more time, I'm gonna turn him into a big, fluffy hat," Peter muttered to Diana's ear as he kneeled down to put Lucy over his back.
Diana mumbled a reply, "Not if I turn him into some mittens first."
Peter fought back a huge grin while Susan and Lucy chuckled, still not being able to keep up with the animals' pace.
"Hurry up! Come on!"
"He is getting a little bossy," Lucy said.
"No! Behind you! It's her!" Mrs. Beaver yelled.
They turned around to see a sleigh approaching them, causing everyone to turn around quickly and run as fast as they could. Diana could feel her own heart in her throat.
