DIANA'S HORSE GUIDED her over the immense amount of trees, fallen leaves and branches along with her brothers and sisters, who were trailing in front of her as they followed after a white stag.
Diana heard her young sister Lucy (who wasn't all that young after all since she had grown several years in their stay at Narnia) chuckled and sharing a laugh with Susan and Peter.
They continued following after the stag when they noticed that Edmund wasn't behind them, so they quickly turned around and the horses neighed as they came to a halt.
"Come on, Ed," Susan said.
"Just catching my breath," Edmund replied.
"Well, that's all we'll catch at this rate," she told him with a playful glare.
"What did he say again, girls?" Lucy asked with a teasing smile.
"'You girls wait in the castle. I'll get the stag myself'," Diana mocked his voice and tone as her sisters laughed along with her while Edmund rolled his eyes.
Peter wasn't paying that much attention to their conversation, since something standing a few feet away had caught his eye. "What's this?"
He jumped off his horse and the others did the same, getting closer to the strange looking lamppost covered in vines since the earth was already claiming it once more.
"It looks strangely familiar," Diana frowned.
"As it from a dream," added Susan.
"Or a dream of a dream," Lucy said and looked back to exchange a glance with her oldest sister as her eyes widened. "Spare Oom."
Diana gasped as the sudden memory popped into her head and followed after Lucy, who had ran from the scene without a word.
"Lucy! Diana!"
"Not again!"
Diana and Lucy ran without looking back and ignoring their siblings calls for them as they swept through the branches and trees.
"Di? Lu?"
"Follow us!" Diana signaled with her hand but she didn't stop as she kept running behind Lucy.
Diana stopped when she noticed the familiar looking wood in front of her, not belonging to any tree. She tried hard to remember it completely, she had the name at the top of her tongue.
"These aren't branches," Peter muttered.
"They're coats," Susan stated.
They all kept walking forward as coats, sweaters and clothes swarmed in and tried to move them around as it covered their sight.
"Susan, you're on my foot!"
"Peter, move off!"
"Stop shoving!"
"Stop it!"
"Quit moving around!"
They all grunted and fell forward into the hard wooden floor of the room they had entered a long time ago, though it seemed. Diana looked down at her clothes and she noticed that her old dress was gone, she was wearing the same pair of skirt and sweaters she wore back at then.
She spared a glance at the others around her and they were in the same state; Peter didn't have the beard she constantly teased him about, Edmund's long hair was gone, Susan's jewelry was gone and Lucy was back to her younger self.
The door of the spare room opened and in walked no other than Professor Kirke, holding a ball in his hand.
"There you are," he said and looked down at the siblings. "What were you all doing in the wardrobe?"
They exchanged a glance.
"You wouldn't believe us if we told you, sir," Peter smiled.
Professor Kirke threw the ball in his hands to Peter, who caught it with ease and looked up at him with a questioning look.
"Try me."
