DIANA WOKE EARLY the next morning, she followed the routine she had gotten used to over the days of being in the battle camp. She tucked some flowers on her hair and decided to wear a light yellow dress for the warm day.

Once she was ready along with her sisters, who already seemed to be in a good mood, they stepped out of their shared tent and spotted Peter already outside of his own, but he didn't pay them any mind, staring off to the distance.

Diana followed where his gaze was placed and her eyes widened in surprise when she saw the familiar figure of Edmund a few feet away, being in a deep conversation with Aslan.

Lucy's smile brightened at the sight and tried to run to him. "Edmund!"

Edmund looked from the lion to Lucy and didn't say anything, the look on his face showed nothing but regret when he turned back to face Aslan. When he turned back around, the lion nodded his head, this being a way to tell him to approach his siblings, and Edmund followed the order with hesitation, his hands in his pockets.

Edmund walked down the hill where he was standing and made his way towards the four with his head down, and Diana tried to hold back a sob from relief, seeing her brother alive and well.

Edmund stopped his walk right in front of the four, making Diana's eyes widen when she saw the injury he had on the lip and the bruises all over his face.

"What's done is done," said Aslan. "There is no need to speak to Edmund about what is past."

Edmund didn't dare to meet his siblings' eyes. "Hello."

Lucy chuckled and embraced Edmund and didn't push her away or made a disgusted face, instead, he received the hug with a smile. Susan followed after her, doing the same action before she pulled away to caress his arm.

Diana walked over to Edmund and he wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, burying his face in her dress. She passed her hands over his black hair in a way to calm him down, pulling away to brush some strands out of his face.

When Diana pulled back, she noticed that Peter was looking at him with an unreadable expression, as if he wasn't quite sure what to say to Edmund.

"Are you all right?" Susan asked.

"I'm a little tired," Edmund confessed.

"Get some sleep," Peter spoke up.

Edmund's smile dropped and he nodded solemnly as he walked away from the group.

"And Edmund," Peter continued and the young boy turned around. "Try not to wander off."

The smile on Edmund's face returned for a small moment, but Diana's heart warmed either way, mentally thanking Peter for not yelling or scolding at him. She was glad that they were finally getting along.

THE FIVE DECIDED to continue the rest of their reunion with their brother after sitting by a small table, everyone seeing the way Edmund was literally stuffing the food into his mouth as if he hadn't eaten in days.

"Narnia's not going to run out of toast, Ed," Lucy teased.

Edmund sheepishly smiled and continued on eating, this time a slower than before. Diana took a bite out of her apple, every now and then she had to scold him after he tried to talk with his mouth full.

"I'm sure they'll pack something up for the journey back," Peter's loud voice said.

"What does that mean?" asked Diana. "We're going home?"

"You are," Peter replied. "I promised Mum I'd keep you four safe."

Diana frowned at his words, staring at Peter in disbelief and confusion as he sat down on the grass with her and the others.

"But it doesn't mean I can't stay behind and help," he continued.

"But they need us," Lucy argued. "All five of us."

"Lucy, it's too dangerous. You almost drowned! Edmund was almost killed!"

"Which is why we have to stay," Edmund added. "I've seen what the White Witch can do. And I've helped her do it. And we can't leave these people behind to suffer for it."

"I suppose that's it then," Susan stood from her seat and walked away.

"Where are you going?" Peter questioned.

Susan reached out to grab her quiver and bow, holding it tightly in her hands as she flashed her brother a confident smile. "To get in some practice."
