THE BRIGHT SUN hit the back of Diana's body, the rays of sunlight making the grass and trees around her to glow in a golden color. After the events of last night, the five siblings decided it would be better to enjoy the sunny day.
Lucy didn't bother to join in their game, distancing herself from the others and sat by a tree while she read a book, the only person she talked to was Diana, who gave her the book as a distraction.
Susan and Edmund played against Peter and Diana in their own version of baseball, but no one seemed that much enthusiastic about it besides Peter, who had a grin on his face.
"Peter winds up, poised to take yet another wicket!" Peter exclaimed as he threw a ball over at Edmund.
"Ow!" Edmund groaned as the ball hit his leg.
"Whoops," Peter smirked. "Wake up, Dolly Daydream."
Susan picked the ball from the grass and threw it over to Diana, who caught it without difficulty.
"Why can't we play hide and seek again?" Edmund asked.
From her place under the tree, Lucy glared at him before looking back at her book.
"Would you look at that, Ed now wants to play that 'kid's game'," Diana faked enthusiasm, using her fingers as quotations when she said 'kid's game'.
Edmund glared at her but didn't reply back with a snarky comment.
"Besides. we could all use the fresh air," Susan insisted, giving her brother a small smile.
"It's not like there's no air inside," Edmund rolled his eyes.
"Are you ready?" Peter asked.
"Are you?"
Peter threw the ball at Edmund, who reacted quickly and swung his bat in the air, causing the ball to get a higher altitude before crashing through the window of the house.
They all looked among themselves to see each other's expressions, none of them knowing how to react to what happened. Diana would've swore she saw a hint of an amusing smile on Lucy's lips.

THEY RUSHED TO the room with the broken window and spotted the broken object. The ball had not only crashed the window, it had also hit an old knight's armor, which now laid on the floor in pieces.
"Well done, Ed," Peter scolded.
"You bowled it!" Edmund accused.
"What on earth is going on?" Mrs. Macready's booming voice came from outside of the room.
"The Macready!" Susan exclaimed.
