"Come, you can meet the team as I imagine you'll be seeing them around a lot. Then we'll get you settled." I nodded and followed miss Romanoff.
"Uhm, miss Romanoff. You know my first name, may I know yours?" I asked.
"I give you my first name, if you give me your surname. Sound fair?" She suggested.
"Fair enough. You first." Just in case she would've tried to avoid giving me her name.
"Clever. My name is Natasha Romanoff." She answered with a raised eyebrow.
"Nice to meet you miss Natasha Romanoff, my name is Leona S-swan." I still wasn't certain about which surname to introduce myself with.
"Nice to meet you, Leona Swan. Here we are." We stepped onto what seemed to be a lounge floor. Several humans were there. I had seen most before but there was also one or two I didn't know.
"Leona, meet the team. Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers, Clint Barton, Thor, Pepper Potts and James Rhodes. Guys, meet Leona Swan. Fury has deemed her no threat, but she isn't joining us on missions yet either." Some hellos were said, though the one named Clint got up and came over.
"Leona, nice to meet you. Thank you for the help even though I shot you. How is the leg?" He asked.
"Just fine, sir. Don't worry. I am a quick healer." I answered with a shrug.
"Call me Clint, please. Fury told me that Nat and I are in charge of you. I hope you're up for some rigorous and strict training." I couldn't help how I reacted to that.
"I am always ready. Let's just hope you can keep up." For a moment the room was silent until the one named Thor laughed loudly. Clint grinned before shaking my hand.
"I like this one. You'll fit right in." They let me go sit with them.
"Well I for one am glad there is another woman here, helps keep the testosterone down." the one named Pepper reacted first.
"Sorry to disappoint miss Potts, but I am not exactly what one would call feminine."
"So what is your gig?" Mr James Rhodes asked.
"My gig, sir?" His question confused me.
"Yes, what are you, what can you do?" He explained.
"I suppose I could share as your boss already knows anyway." I shrugged.
"Oh this could get good." Thor commented.
"I am a vampire-human hybrid with the gift of alchemy." My tone was as if I was talking about the weather.
"Wait, vampires as in blood-sucking monsters? Like Dracula?" Tony Stark asked.
"Yes sir though I doubt Dracula was the same type." Unless the Romanian vampire Vladimir was the one considered to be Dracula.
"You were out in daylight though." Clint pointed out.
"I don't burn in the sun." I answered.
"And the alchemy thing?" Dr Banner was interested.
"Can you hand me that phone, please sir?" I asked mr Rogers. He did as said with skepticism in his eyes.
"Tell me what are the components of this device?" I asked no one in particular.
"Metal, plastic, glass, and so on." Tony answered.
"What I can do is make something different out of it, take the components apart, or I can use those broken apart bits to make something entirely different but made of the same materials." I showed them. When I had returned the phone to its original state, they tested if it still worked the same.
"What if you want to make something and the components you need aren't there?" Dr Banner asked.
"Then I can't makeit. I guess. I don't know." I never had that problem yet. I was surprised I wasable to do the phone as I've only used my gift on natural components. I thoughtI might not be able to do it with artificial materials.
"How long have you had this gift?" Thor wondered.
"Since a long time I suppose. May I retire to my room please? This whole experience of being sent here alone and without an explanation, the fighting and today is kind of overwhelming." I asked. I was feeling exhausted from keeping up my calm façade. I didn't want them to see my pain. I still don't know them that well as we only just met.
"Yes of course. Have a good night.
"I'll show you the way." Natasha said. She led me back to the elevator and now we went up a bit more.
"Why did you stutter?" She asked once we were alone.
"What?" I didn't understand what she asked.
"When you told me your surname, why did you stutter?" She explained.
"That name while it is my own, it's also not and a lot of hurt comes with it." I answered truthfully and the look she gave me was one I couldn't quite describe.
"You won't have to share if you don't want. We all have our secrets. This is your room." She said. It was designed in a modern fashion. Not quite my taste but it will have to do. "Do you like it?"
"Hm, I might change a couple of things, but it's not bad. I'm already happy with having a bed." I smiled.
"Great, there is your own bathroom, and the door next to it is your closet. I'll let you get some rest. If you need anything, ask Jarvis about it or ask him to call Clint or me up. Goodnight." She said leaving me alone.
I changed the style of my new room with my gift to give it a more natural look. The window I had now had an ottoman next to it so I could actually relax there, and decided to leave my cloak on the ottoman until I caught a whiff of Felix' scent. Remembering our bond had snapped, the pain in my heart got worse and I broke. My legs gave out and I dropped on the ottoman sobbing. I just kept crying not registering anything but the pain in my heart. Curling up I had the cloak balled up and held it close, until I fell asleep.

Romanoff just left with the new guest and when the door closed the team left in the relaxation room turned to one another, while Tony ordered Jarvis to keep an eye on the two that just left. "What do we think?" Tony began.
"She's a polite one, that's for sure." James commented.
"It is obvious she didn't lie about having been in the army. Her whole posture screamed soldier." Agent Hill said.
"She was in the army?" Steve asked.
"Yes, well on the version of earth she originates from that is." She replied
"How old is she?" Pepper asked.
"She is 24." Bruce answered.
"So young and already probably seen horrible things. Poor girl." Clint commented.
"Do we think she is a threat to our world though?" Tony asked.
"No, I don't think she is. Otherwise she wouldn't have helped us but the aliens. She would've escaped the various times she had the chance to, or she would've killed us all already. I think with her gift, she would've had very little trouble beating most of us." Bruce answered.
"Sir, miss Leona is in her room. Do you wish for me to keep an eye on her?" Jarvis asked.
"Yes, thanks Jarvis." Not long after, Jarvis showed the team footage of their new guest breaking down and weeping until she fell asleep. Romanoff had just joined them again.
