The Alchemist Journey of Power

Chapter 19

Just as I was about to grab the weapon, I heard something odd. Not hearing the sound again, I reached for the hammer when it walked in.

A seemingly broken iron man suit. But Tony was with us. What was going on? They questioned it as it spoke of saving the world being made to act as armor for the world. "An oddity? You don't belong here. My first mission in the grand scheme of things." It said looking at me.

Apparently, the android was named Ultron. A plan of Tony's. That was what they had been doing the past few days. Ultron launched a few other suits to try and kill the avengers. One tackled me and started trying to choke me. I reached up searching for anything to use. I found something and bashed my assailant's head in with all my strength before flying away. Huh?

I crashed into Thor and the robot he was fighting. I had grabbed Mjolnir. "Sorry." I grabbed a table leg turned it into a spear and rammed it into the one fighting Tony before jumping and fighting the one shooting at Natasha and Bruce. It was a struggle. My gift was hard to use, as I didn't get even a millisecond to think of what I wanted to use it for. I had only one option. I broke it apart. But when I did, I crashed through a window and fell many stories down.

Before I blessed the ground with my body crashing into it, air was knocked out of me. "You okay?" an accented voice asked. Opening my eyes I saw the boy from Sokovia. He put me down on the ground.

"What are you doing here?" I asked confused.

"Mission." If that was all he was willing to share I wasn't going to ask.

"Thank you for saving me." I said genuinely grateful. He saved me a lot of backpain

"Consider us even." And he was off. Strange boy. Shaking off this odd encounter, I went inside and up in the building again. The team had defeated the others and were discussing the plans.

"Oh Leona, there you are. Are you hurt?" Natasha asked.

"No, I'm fine. I am quite sturdy you know." I smiled to re-assure them. The team argued about Tony having created Ultron in secrecy and the problems it caused.

It wasn't long before we heard more about this Ultron. Strucker had been killed, and there signs that it was this Ultron, so of course we were sent to check it out. And now we ran into the twins again. this time we were in Africa where they were trying to get something called Vibranium. apparently the strongest metal in this world and Steve's shield and Tony's suits are made of that.

I was racing to get the boy taken down again, but just when I nearly had him, the girl interfered. again. Times like these, I wished I had Bella's mental shield. Now I was knocked out cold, cursing my human-side. While watching the fight with the Romanian vampires happen over and over again.

By the time I woke up, my heart had shattered in a million pieces, I felt my thirst worse than before. And a need to kill whoever caused my heartache. "Good you're awake." A voice said from up close. Jumping up to stand, I crouched with a growl taking in my surroundings. There was this android like thing watching me. Did he cause my pain?

"Oh shut it, I am not the enemy here. The humans are. Especially the enhanced ones that pretend to be good-doers. They hate what doesn't belong, unless it is of their creation. I can help you take revenge but you aren't strong enough the way you are now. There is still part of you locked away. The humans wouldn't want you to unlock your full potential. They would fear you and shun you, perhaps even kill you." It said. Its voice was oddly alluring.

"And you don't?" I spoke with a soft growl.

"No I believe every creature should be allowed to reach as high as they can. So let me help you reach your highest." It answered. The problem here was I couldn't sense if it was lying.

Calming down a bit more, I sighed. "What do you want in return?" 

"Help me take down those in my way to keep the world safe." The android replied showing me images of his enemies. That did sound fair. I agreed to help keep the world safe when the android grabbed a scepter that glowed blue. It touched me with the glowing bit and I was knocked out again, but my mind felt free. Open. Every single lesson about alchemy I'd had as human and even memories of my predecessors and their knowledge seemed to be clear to me. I felt power run through my entire body.

A roar woke me up. I was in a cell. That wouldn't hold me back. Humans are stupid to think stone and iron would hold me back. I busted through the door and walked out. There was a hallway. a flash of green, black and I think red. not from left to right but from down to up. Something jumped. Deciding to check it out, I went after the flashes until an arrow narrowly missed me. It smelled like it carried an explosive so I ran away from it. To whoever shot that arrow.

It was a human. "Wait, Leona? you were here as well?" Do I know this human? He was among the images the android showed. With a growl I attacked the human but he ran. Something inside me told me to stop, to not hurt the human. 

A voice told me to use my power as intended. To protect instead of killing those weaker than me. My turmoil had me let the human get a head-start. I followed his scent outside and I heard him say something odd.

"Guys, I fear we have a big problem here. I think Leona got brainwashed. I think Ultron used the scepter on her. She tried to attack me and tried to go after Nat and Hulk." The human male said.

"If she is turned against us, we have a serious problem here." A female voice said from behind me. I felt a sting and then shocks rendered me unable to move.

Was Natasha right? Do the avengers have a real problem now that Leona isn't fully herself? What do you think she can do now? What will happen next?

Also I want to inform you that the next twenty weeks I might have trouble keeping up my updating schedule. Tomorrow I am starting an internship and will be (hopefully) graduating at the end of this school year. The internship might hopefully lead to a fulltime job but it will definitely keep me busier than I have been until now. I will try my best but please don't be mad or disappointed if I don't manage to update as usual.
