Chapter 29

Once they all came to, the five vampires were all down on their knees in an old building. "Good you are awake." They saw a woman sitting on what seemed to have been a chair. She had long curly dark hair and was dressed in a white dress. The style seemed to be the same as on the images they saw around Athens. Like an ancient Greek woman. The others were dressed in more modern day styles.

"Who are you? How did you-." Heidi asked but she was muted by the same man that knocked her out.

"Be respectful, leech. You are here in front of Her Magnificence the Oracle of Delphi. Mind your manners." A girl around early twenties snapped.

"Calm down, Ariane, her questions are understandable. Now you know who I am, and obviously it was magic used to knock you out." The so-called Oracle spoke.

"Madam, may we ask what you want from us?" Alec asked.

"I foresaw your arrival. Your mission is one of greater importance than you realize. However it is also one that will cost a great sacrifice, yet it must be fulfilled no matter what." The woman's voice was dreamy and soft.

"You know of-." Demetri was interrupted.

"The Wanderer? Of course. Her legend is known and discussed a lot under the gods." the Oracle confirmed.

"Can you help us find a way to get her back?" Felix asked.

"No. She cannot return to a world already changed for a very long time. Do not worry, there is a way for you to join her. The sword must remain with the shield after all." Internally all vampires wanted to strangle the woman for speaking so oddly.

"The sword being..." Jane wondered. the woman merely glanced at one particular guard.

"Me." Felix realized.

"What?" All four others of the group were surprised and turned to the tallest member.

"Think about it. Leona's gift only works best defending others. Never attack, only defend. That is one of the main rules. Whereas I am the one keeping her safe by attacking the one threatening her. I am the fighter, the sword. She is the defender, the shield." He explained. The Oracle smiled gently. The Wanderer had found herself a wise mate.

"You are a wise man for being so young." She confirmed his theory.

"Then does that mean you are the only one able to go find her?" Demetri asked. They all turned to the woman.

"Yes and no. Your friends may come until she is found, but only you can remain at her side. You will need all the help their talents can give and much more." She answered. Waving her hand, a cloaked figure they had barely noticed did some strange hand-movements and a portal seemed to open. "Come on through." out of the portal stepped... several vampires. Jasper, Serena, Peter and Charlotte along with Rosalie and Emmett and the rest of the Cullens. But also Chelsea, Aro. Practically everyone who had last seen Leona that one day on the field in America. Including the wolves.

"Why are we here?" Aro asked.

"It is time for you to repay the Wanderer. If she had chosen revenge for her mate's death both the wolves and vampires would have gone extinct. If she hadn't tried to change your views, that day would have ended with most of you dead." The Oracle answered.

"What can we do?" Carlisle asked.

"The Wanderer is chosen because Gaia has become arrogant and lazy. Her job nowadays is to make sure the worlds run their course as intended. She makes the Wanderer do this instead. as punishment for her laziness, her home remains in shambles until she is put in her place. To avoid the Wanderer becoming too powerful for her to control, Gaia snapped your bond not knowing you are still bound by being her sire." The Oracle explained.

"Then how do we find my aunt?" Renesmee asked.

"I can send you to the realm the wanderer is currently traveling in. it is a troubling world. The Wanderer is helping prepare for a war, believing that the side sheis helping to be the good side. She is wrong. That side has a mind-controlling witch whom influenced her beliefs. My master asked me to find help and save the Wanderer.

"Leona was brain-washed?" Bella was shocked. Her big sister, the headstrong, sassy and fearless one of the Swan siblings, brain-washed by someone into fighting a full-blown war.

"Yes. I fear that to be the case." the figure nodded once.

"Then we must go help save her. It is the least we can do. Let us decide now on whether to go or not." Some covens chose not to go, which was understandable. Volturi, Cullen, Denali and Whitlock covens stayed and the Black Pack stayed as well. Jacob, Seth, Leah, Embry, Quil and a couple more wolves whomturned due to the confrontation with the Volturi, they all stayed. Paul wished he could but Rachel was about to go into labor soon. His wolf was overprotective these days.

"Well then. Let's begin, shall we?" The cloaked figure smirked. Everything was going according to plan. The Wanderer would be a problem no longer. Thanos might reward him with such a quick solution. 

Edward caught the thoughts of the stranger and he frowned. If they were about to save Leona, why did the stranger call her a problem? who is Thanos? He glanced at Jasper and they shared a look of agreement. The stranger was suspicious. Jasper probably caught emotions that didn't fit the situation.

Edward, the stranger smells funny. like the red-head did that day on the mountain or the ones from Romania when they attacked Leona and the other hybrid. came from the wolves. Were they able to smell the stranger's intentions being good or bad? Whatever it was the stranger had to be watched.

I think it is rather obvious who the stranger was. If not, go back a couple of chapters.

will the vampires and wolves figure out the truth? and what is the sacrifice the Oracle spoke of?

Next chapter we'll be going back to Leona, who will find out more about the human staying in her new accomodations before her. perhaps a bit of bonding will be done as well.
