Chapter 20

"Can you take her with us? Perhaps the Maximoff girl can bring her back. Cap talked the twins into helping us save their people and destroy Ultron." The man explained. I felt myself being picked up and a rush of air. I tried to struggle but simply had no energy.

"Her eyes are black. She needs to feed and soon." This red-headed woman said. "Too bad Ultron is an android." 

"We are prepared. Try to get her to take some capsules first though. It will take the edge off for now." And that was exactly what the humans did. The male did. The other two joined some fight first.

"Leona, I don't know what you were told but we aren't the bad guys. Yes, we are flawed but we try our best to protect the world and its inhabitants, whether it is from outside enemies like androids or aliens, or from our own mistakes and fears. You were chosen to receive your gift to protect too, remember? Take your capsule. Perhaps a little nourishment will help you see clear again." He said pointing at my pocket. I reached down without looking and touched some small box. 

It was filled with capsules as the male had said. Taking one I smelled blood. I took two and used them, feeling my energy replenish a little. Not enough to last very long but. "C-clint? What's going on?" The archer smiled relieved of something.

"Glad to have you back with us. I don't have time to explain but follow me. We are finishing off Ultron and could use your help." He said helping me up. We joined the team for a quick debriefing and for me to replenish my energy more.

"The twins' homeland is in danger. Their city called Novi Grad has vibranium underneath the city which is what Ultron is after to make his army stronger. We are to evacuate the city and to fight the androids." They explained. And so we did, Pietro and I worked together to get the humans to leave the city. He helped them get out while I kept them safe with my gift. As I was using it to defend them my energy didn't deplete as fast. 

This thing called Vision was also helping us. It was an android-like being but on the good side. Eventually we found the core of the machine Ultron planned to activate. He wanted to use it to create a fake meteorite crash or something.

After we got most civilians out, Thor challenged Ultron. "Is that all you got?" He yelled at the android. Of course a new army gathered and then we were kept busy fighting so Fury could help finish evacuation with the good part of S.H.I.E.L.D. and mr Rhodes.

Eventually we were done but Ultron still managed to activate the machine and the city was rising. We were evacuating ourselves now while Pietro and I made sure every civilian was off the floating city. Clint saw a little boy still on the streets and ran for him while Ultron had gotten hold of a quinjet and was shooting at the boy. Pietro got there first as he was closer to the two in distance and shoved a car in front of Clint. I raced there myself not wanting the Sokovian boy to die either. Dust went up as the bullets came closer and closer. I touched the ground hoping to shield the three.

Once the dust settled, I saw a big piece of the road standing up over where Clint was with Pietro and the child but didn't see the humans. Hulk took down the jet while I ran to where the humans were and my hand flew over my mouth in shock. I had been too late. Clint was okay as was the kid, but Pietro was heavily wounded. "Leona, help him to the helicarrier. We need to go." Clint's voice kept me from zoning out. I picked Pietro up gently, got him somehow on my back, before running after the archer. 

Clint had to jump with the kid but since I was shorter, I wouldn't make the jump, at least if I had been human. but I'm not. however, I had a very wounded human on my back. I don't know what made me do it but I ran up an upside down that acted as a ramp for me and I walked on air... before I realized what I was doing I was on the helicarrier.

The city was falling, and it's citizens were watching their homes be destroyed. Poor humans, if only I could help... wait. Not wasting time I went back to the center of the whole place, and used all of my energy. I broke down every bit of the city, literally turning it into dust, which I put into a massive container made of my cloak and the iron used in the city. This massive change had me over-exhausted, but not really. I wasn't as tired as I thought I would've been. 

But turning the city into dust made that I was falling myself. I saw humans watching over the railing on the carrier. at least they were safe. I wonder if I will survive a fall from this height. perhaps if I were to die, I could watch over Felix. or by miracle, I could go home and actually see him again. 

Something was coming my way. Did someone else fall? "Need a lift?" I was caught by Tony. He flew us to the carrier. There he put us down and I was hugged by certain humans. Getting over the shock of my possible death, I asked Fury to put the container on the ground. Tony, Vision and mr Rhodes took care of that with help from Tony's other suits

"Leona, what are you going to do?" Natasha asked when she pulled away.

"Nothing yet, I have to do something else first." I answered seeing Wanda next to her brother, crying. I approached them and she prepared to defend his body. I tied her down and made her watch as I reversed the damage done to the boy before doing something I never thought possible. 

With a gasp he returned to the world of the living. and I fainted.

What is it that Leona did to bring Pietro back?
