Back to Leona...

I arrived with the Asgardians at the Avengers complex. We were surrounded by security and women with spears. Agent Hill was in charge of them. "Agent Hill? Oh, thank god. We need help. Please." I begged the human.

"Who are all these people?" She asked once recognizing Thor, Banner and me.

"Asgardians. They lost their homes, I'll explain later. Is the team here?"

"Sort of. You missed a lot. Let's get them checked out by the medical department and find a place for them to stay." She signaled security that things were okay and ordered them to help.

"Thank you, Lady Hill. This means a lot. Don't worry about Loki, he is on our side now." Thor was relieved his people would be taken care of.

"You are responsible for him." We were led inside the complex where a full medical team was waiting. Thor, Loki, Banner and I were led away to explain our situation once the others were gathered. They told about this 'civil war' thing which was really about Steve and Tony having a fight because the government was being a bitch about Wanda's accident during a mission.

"It did help you had rebuild New York, but since you didn't do anything about Sokovia we were made to sign accords." Natasha said.

"I didn't have time for that. Nor do we have that time now. Thor?" Thor explained about the Stones and Thanos himself coming for the ones on earth. Steve was sending his friend Bucky, who had been the subject of the argument, to Wakanda for some sort of treatment.

'Leona, you too must go to Wakanda, your purpose here will be fulfilled in that country.' Gaia's voice told me in my mind.

"Now you choose to be helpful? Fine." I grumbled before turning to the king of the country, T'challa. "Apparently, I need to be in Wakanda as well. My master told me, my reason for being here is found there." He looked confused at that which I could understand.

"Who are you?" He asked.

"Leona Swan, apparently called the Wanderer. Also partly the reason you all aren't in as much trouble as you could've been for what happened in Germany." Agent Hill explained my help in a few of their cases when he asked her. She showed him the data they have on me like species, power, things like that.

"No feeding on my people." He said, clearly having read about me being a vampire.

"Of course. Your medical staff might end up missing a few bloodbags though. I probably can't do whatever she tells me on the capsules Dr Banner and Tony created for me.

"That's fine. As long as it is just that. You will need to stay away from the city and live on the outskirts, just to be safe. Your accommodations won't be as luxurious as what you are used to here though." He warned.

"I am perfectly fine with that. As long as I don't have to sleep in ruins during a sandstorm again, anything else is fine. I just need access to natural components for whatever I am being made to do." I accepted.

"Startpacking what you need." He sighed. Probably annoyed having to bring all these strange people to his country. I went inside the complex and ran into Steve.

"Hey Steve, heard about your fight with Tony, are you okay?" I asked the blond captain.

"I hated doing it, but I had to protect my friend. I didn't want to lose him again. Because he is the one person who is truly like me. He can understand me like no one else can." It was admirable to see humans so loyal to one another.

"I can understand wanting to protect a bond like that. I'm almost jealous of it." While yes, I had Felix, I was the only one truly like me.

"Will you look after him for me?" He asked.

"Of course. I get to baby-sit as well as keep the balance of the world safe. As if life isn't though enough." I replied with a sigh though the look on my face showed I was kidding.

"I don't need a baby-sitter." A voice said from behind us. Turning to the source all I saw was what happened during project insight.

"We'll see." Steve answered. I sped over to the man with a growl and pushed him against the wall with a knife on his throat. I wanted to hurt him for Sitwell's gruesome death, for me losing control and having completely destroyed those humans in Rumlow's squad, for the humans I had to kill to proof who's side I was on. For the building crashing with me still in it and perhaps other people as well. For Natasha getting hurt. And yet I couldn't. He was a mere puppet. A tool used for dirty work. Only to be turned mindless again once he was showing a glimpse of recovery.

He was a bit like the newborn vampires in Victoria's army. And the children used by Thylena for alchemy practice. Perhaps even the vampires the Romanian coven brought during the confrontation with Volterra. And definitely like the undead army Hela used to conquer Asgard. All those lives and so many more, used and lost, for nothing other than power.

"Leona, stop that!" Steve's voice brought the vampire back to reality. Leona blinked a couple of times and realized what she was trying to do. Dropping the knife, she was thrown away from the man, by Thor who had heard the commotion going on, and was worried about an attack. Landing on the floor, several feet away, Leona just laid there watching Steve worry about his friend. Others were making sure she wouldn't try again, by holding her at gun-point.

"Steve, I'm fine. She wasn't really hurting me. I can't blame her for trying though. The last time she probably saw me was during project Insight. She was probably reminded of everything that I did then." Bucky as Steve called his friend explained. He had seen the changes of her emotions in the girl's eyes. Anger and hate turned to sadness, regret, guilt and more.

I apologize. The past couple of weeks I was unable to keep my updating schedule up due to a couple of reasons. I had an important exam to prepare for and had hit a bit of a writer's block with this particular story. So luckily some marvel movies came on the TV and helped me find a bit of inspiration again and now I am fully back to regular updates.

Let me know what you think so far, any questions you have about the chapter or the story, and any theories you have of the future events. I do read every comment I get and answer those I deem necessary of an answer.

Have a nice week!!
