Chapter 14

Chapter 14: "And I think the first sign you notice when you begin to gain feelings towards a person, is just how easily you get jealous when they give others the attention you crave for."

I placed my elbow on the table and rested my chin on my palm as I watched Chester play billiards with Kyle, JL, and Xander. We're hanging out at our tambayan since we've got nothing better to do.

I let out a dreamy sigh. "Why does he look so freaking hot playing billiards!"

Andy gave me a resigned look. "You're hopeless!"

Yu chuckled and took the empty seat beside Andy. "He could be playing chess and he'd still look hot in your eyes."

"You're right!" I responded, giggling. 

"Do you guys, wanna party later? Marcus is having a Halloween party. Ano, g tayo?"

I looked at Chester, but then I saw him shaking his head in response to Xander's question. Whether we go to the party or not, doesn't matter to me; All I care about is being with Chester anyway. 

"Why not, bro? Marcus throws wild Halloween parties," Kyle said with a smirk.

"I just don't feel like partying."

Xander walked towards us and sat beside me. "Say you're going," he whispered to me. 

My forehead creased. "Why?"

"Just play along with me," nakangising bulong pa rin niya. Umayos siya ng upo at binalingan si Chester na inaasinta ang bola. "So.. Yu, Andy, Kyle, Claire, and I are going to the party later. What about you, Clyde? Clint?"

"No," Kuya Clint answered.

Kuya Clyde, on the other hand, turned to me, raised his brow. "You're going?" 

"Uh.." Pasimple akong siniko ng mahina ni Xander. "Y-yeah."

Kuya Clyde just smirked as he saw what Xander did. My gaze went back to Chester, but I was met with a displeased look on his face. My lips parted as he snubbed me and hit the ball. Napabuga na lang ako ng hangin.

Mayamaya ay inaya ako nina Andy at Yu na manood na lang ng horror film. We went to the entertainment room and chose a scary movie on Netflix. The two of them sat on the floor while I was on the sofa bed, hugging a pillow. 

Not a minute longer, JL and Chester went inside. The latter plopped down beside me. Bahagya ko siyang nilinga. I grimaced as I saw that his brows were still snapped together. I cleared my throat, put my feet up, and leaned closer to him.

"Why so grumpy?" 

Bahagya lang niya akong nilinga at muling ibinalik ang tingin sa movie. "You're going to the party?"

"Hmm.." I just made a sound as a response because I wasn't comfortable in lying to him. 

He turned to me with an intimidating look. "Do you know how wild Marcus' party could get?" he asked in a low but dangerous tone. My lips opened but I closed it again and just shook my head. "You're not going."

He said it in a way that left no room for argument. He eyes didn't leave mine until I nodded. Masungit niyang ibinalik ang tingin sa pinapanood. In my head, I was cursing Xander for putting me in such a situation. 

To make sure that I wouldn't really go to the party, he didn't take me home right away. We went to a coffee shop instead with Andy and JL and stayed there for more than an hour. It was past 11 when he took me home.
