Chapter 3

Chapter 3: "You can go to the moon and back for someone and they'll have the audacity to say. 'I never asked you to."

Andy was wide-eyed in amazement as I showed her the heart shaped cookies I baked for Chester. I stayed up late baking lots of cookies. I didn't stop until I got the perfect taste. "They look so delicious! Kay Chester lang talaga? Paano naman ako?" nakalabing tanong nito.

I rolled my eyes. "I made some for you of course!" Inabot ko sa kanya ang isang box.

She let out a shriek of delight then hugged me. "Oh my gosh! Thank you, Claire! You're not only beautiful but awesome, as well! Chester would be stupid not to like you!"

"Love. I want him to love me not just like," I said with a smirk.

"Good luck." Binuksan niya agad ang box at tinikman. "My goodness! Ang sarap!"

Natawa ako sa reaction niya. Inaya ko na siya na puntahan si Chester ng lunch break namin. Magagaan ang mga hakbang ko habang papunta kami sa kanya. I pursed my lips when I didn't see him in the Engineering bldg. Buti na lang ay nakita namin si Yuan Lee.

"Yu! Have you seen Chester?" I asked.

"Nasa rooftop."

Lumapad ang ngiti ko. "Thank you!" Mabilis na akong tumakbo papunta sa rooftop. Iniwan ko na si Andy kasama si Yu. Hiningal pa ako sa pag-akyat. Alam ko naman ang password dito sa penthouse na ginawa nilang tambayan kaya nakapasok agad ako. My lips curved into a smile when I saw him sleeping on the couch. 

I knelt down and stared at the perfection right in front of me. This snobbish guy is unbelievably handsome! Bumaba ang tingin ko sa mapupupala niyang labi. I wonder what it would feel if like if our lips touch?

Slowly I leaned down but as I was about to kiss him, his eyes opened. That made me almost jump but I tried to remain calm. 

His forehead creased. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?"

I smiled. "Staring at my future husband?"

He breathed out harshly then got up. Akmang tatayo siya pero mabilis ko siyang hinawakan sa braso at pinigilan. Bumaba ang tingin niya sa kamay ko kaya binitawan ko iyon. He gave me a blank stare.

"What do you want?"

I pouted. "Sungit," I muttered. Inabot ko sa kanya ang dala kong box. "This is for you."

He just glanced at it then looked away. I pouted when he didn't even make a move to take the box. Umupo ako sa tabi niya at inalapag iyon sa kandungan niya. 

"Pinagpuyatan ko iyon. Make sure to eat them. Magtatampo talaga ko kapag hindi mo kinain. Hmm?"

Hindi siya kumibo. He just gave me an uninterested look. Ngumiti pa rin ako sa kanya at umalis na. I wanted to stay longer but I knew he wouldn't like it.

"Class, make sure to submit those reports after a week. Dismiss."

Mabilis kong inayos ang gamit ko. I was so excited to see Chester and check if he has already eaten the cookies. On our way to Haven, Andy kept on complaining about our Prof. 

"Asan ang hustisya? Ang dami na nga natin homework sa kanya tapos dinagdagan pa niya ng report!!"

I chuckled. "It's fine. We can survive this," biro ko sa kanya.

Umismid siya. "Masaya ka lang kase tinanggap ni Chester yung bigay mo."

"Well, he didn't exactly accept it," I said, smirking.
