Chapter 28

Chapter 28: "If I told you about the darkness inside of me, would you still look at me like I'm the sun?"

Katie: Can we talk?

An hour has passed but I still can't make up my mind whether I should talk to her not. There are a lot of things that I wanna tell her and questions that need answers, but on the other hand, I don't know if I'm ready. I'm confused.

I breathed out and put my phone back in my bag. Perhaps, it's better to decide after I'm done with my clearance. 

"Bubbs," 

Chester strode towards me. He was wearing a black shirt, pants, and white sneakers. He looks expensive as ever. However, my face turned a bit sour as I noticed the girls salivating over him. He has become more famous due to his photo that went viral. It's crazy how others even go to our school just to see him and even ask for a photo! And worst, there were those who were bold enough to invite him out! 

I never thought that there would ever be a day that I'd appreciate his 'kasupladuhan' until I met his aggressive fans! 

"It's done." 

My brows raised. It's the day that students like myself have to get our clearance signed by professors before we officially enjoy our sem break. However, it seems this is also the day that they play hide and seek with their us. 

"How?" I asked, quite amazed. 

He just shrugged his shoulder. "The others are waiting for us at the cafeteria. Let's go," he said and reached for my hand.

Nope, we're not yet okay. Nevertheless, I can't show that to the girls who were just waiting for a chance to pounce on him. No way. This guy is mine. 

Kyle, Xander, JL, and Andy occupied the table in the corner. They've already ordered for us. Chester pulled the chair for me, and it secretly made me 'kilig' despite us not being 'okay' at the moment. 

"Are you done with your clearance?" Andy asked.

I nodded and showed her my card. 

Xander breathed out harshly and said, "Tangna. I swear, my professors are playing hide and seek with me!"

"Gagong estudyante ka rin naman kase kaya ayan ang napala mo!" natatawang sabi ni Kyle.

He breathed out harshly. "Maybe I should buy boxes of brownies for them. Mukhang effective na peace offering," he said and looked at Chester and I. 

Kyle smirked. "Worth it naman pala yung pagkaipit natin sa traffic kagabi para lang mabili yung special brownies."

My forehead slowly creased. "How did you know about the brownies?" 

Chester is not one to share details voluntarily. 

Tumaas ang mga kilay ni Kyle. "Magkakasama kami kagabi. Matter of fact, we were at the twins' house when Chester went to see you."

"Ang daya nga eh! Usapan drinking night namin iyon pero gumawa ng ibang plano," ani JL.

I glanced at him. He just ignored them and arranged my food in front of me. Could I be wrong? Weren't he and Katie really together last night? But it already came from our friends that Chester was with them before he went to my house.

But then again, I'm a hundred percent sure that it was Chester in the photo. I can't be wrong about that. I would recognize him anywhere. I bit my lower lip and glanced at Kyle; He's the only one I feel safe enough to ask this question to.
