Chapter 21

Chapter 21: "I look at you, and I just love you, and it terrifies me. It terrifies me what I would do for you."

"Naghahanap yata talaga ng sakit ng katawan iyang Raul na iyan," naiinis na bulong ni Andy sa akin. "Inilayo na nga siya, tingin pa rin ng tingin! Sana lang hindi siya mapansin ni Chester."

Andy was right; Raul, Net's cousin, was staring at me. My forehead creased and looked away, quite pissed. Shortly after Chester warned him, Andoy and Will were quick to make Raul sit far from me and tried to lighten the mood. But this jerk just wouldn't stop staring at me! Nanadya ba talaga siya? 

"Bubbs."

"Hmm?" baling ko kay Chester.

He put his hand behind my back. "Could you please check my phone in the car? Abuelita is probably looking for us now. I should give her a call."

I glanced at my wrist watch. "Oh. You're right. It's late na pala. All right. Key?"

"Take Andy with you," he said and handed me his car key.

I raised my brows and glanced at Andy. "It's fine. Ako na lang."

He ignored what I said and turned to Andy. "Ands, pakisamahan naman si Claire sa sasakyan."

"Sure."

Kaagad na tumayo si Andy para samahan ako. I gazed at him, quite puzzled as to why she asked her to come with me. His pick up was just parked outside. 

"Claire, tara!"

I nodded and went with her. I pressed his fob key to unlock the car door. His phone was on the passenger seat. I picked it up. However, as I was locking the door, I heard screams.

"Ano iyon?" Kaagad na akong kinutuban kaya tumakbo ako pabalik. "Uy, Claire! Wait lang!"

Pagpasok ko pa lang ng gate ay kita ko na ang pagkukumpulan ng mga bisita. I gasped as soon as I saw Chester throwing punches at Raul who was almost unconscious, lying on the ground. Why the heck were they just watching them! 

It seemed the others were too scared to intervene. My eyes looked for Xander and JL because I knew only them could stop Chester. Napabuga ako ng marahas ng makita silang nakaupo lang at pinapanood si Chester na binubugbog si Raul. Nakuha pa talaga nilang uminom!

"Oh my God!" I ran to him and hugged him from behind. "Bubbs! Bubbs, stop! Please stop!"

"Claire!" Madilim ang mukha na huminto siya at bumaling sa akin. "F*ck it! I almost pushed you!"

Ang akala ko rin ay hahawiin niya ako kanina kaya napapikit na lang ako ng mariin at yumakap ng mahigpit sa kanya. If he hadn't recognized me, he would've pushed me away! 

"B-Bubbs, please enough.." I uttered weakly, my knees were almost jelly. "Please let's go.. Please."

He brushed his fingers through his hair harshly and breathed out. Walang kibong inilagay niya ang kamay sa likod ko at inakay ako palabas ng bakuran nina Net. Iniwasan ko ng tumingin kay Raul na wala ng malay at duguan ang mukha. 

Xander, JL, and Andy followed us and got in the backseat. Inalalayan akong sumakay ni Chester sa passenger seat. My knees were still shaking from what I saw. He was about to get in, as well, when Net called him. 

"What happened there?" I asked.

"That dousche was asking for it," JL responded with a shrug.

Xander sighed. "Damn. I didn't even get to sing 'Banal na Aso, Santong Kabayo.' It was already my turn."
