Chapter 2

Chapter 2: "You have bewitched me, body and soul."

It was one sunny day, Andy and I had nothing better to do during our break. We were sitting under the tree, eating some snacks, and talking about nothing in particular. I was leaning against the tree, looking heavenward and thinking how nice the weather was.

Suddenly, Andy nudged me. "Girl, to your right!"

I looked at her, a bit baffled. Pero sinundan ko ng tingin ang ininguso niya. My face brightened up as I saw him passing by with Yu. His brows were a little knitted, but boy it didn't make him less handsome. 

"My.. How could he look so fresh under the sun?" I muttered dreamily. "Chester!" 

His brows drew even more together as he looked my way. I waved at him, but he just looked away as if he didn't see me. I just shrugged my shoulders. Sanay na ako sa pagiging snob niya. Yu, on the other hand, waved at us and we waved back at him.

"Why do you like Chester?" It was a question that made me stop and think. "Yes, he's got it all. Girls go crazy over him."

Quite giddy, I nodded in agreement. "So true."

"Pero girl, you're like the most beautiful girl in this school. Heck. Guys are lining up for you, but you still go after someone who just ignores you."

Nangalumbaba ako at tumingin sa kawalan. "Why nga ba?" I breathed out. "Honestly, I don't know. But definitely, it's not just his looks. He's rude to me most of the time, but with him, there are butterflies. Gosh. So corny," I said with a soft laugh.

"Crush lang siguro yon."

I shook my head. "No. I may not know why I like him, but I know it's more than that."

Her mouth snapped shut then took out her phone, and handed it to me. I glanced at it then at her. Tumaas ang mga kilay ko. She rolled her eyes. "Cellphone number ng future husband mo."

My eyes widened. "Oh my God!" Tumili ako at mabilis na kinuha ang number ni Chester. "Thank you, Andy! You're the best!"

"Ninakaw ko lang yan sa phone ni JL. Muntik pa niya akong mahuli. Please lang, Claire, don't piss Chester off. He's known for being temperamental." 

"I promise," I said, nodding eagerly.

My lips were pursed as I looked at the guys who were busy playing some mobile game. Mahigit isang oras na kami dito Haven Cafe at sobrang bored na ako! 

"Clyde, where's Clint ba? I wanna go home already."

"Later, Claire," he responded, focused on his game.

I rolled my eyes, so close to throwing their phones away. However, as soon as Chester entered the café, my boredom and annoyance flew out of the window, and my lips automatically formed into a big smile. 

"Hi Chester!" I greeted him with a sweet smile, but as usual he just gave me a blank look. He's such a snob!

I've probably sent a hundred messages to him, but I never got any reply from him. Ang lakas maka- seenzone. Pati sa fb ay hindi pa niya ina-accept ang friend request ko. 

Bigla silang nagkayayaan sa mall ng malaman na pupunta doon si Yu at may bibilhin. Clyde said. "Claire, are you coming or should I bring you home?"

Tumingin ako kay Chester. "Is he coming?"

My cousin sighed and shook his head. "You know what? Let's just go home."
