The preparation for Historia's coronation was to last a week. It was a lot of time to make sure that everything would go perfectly. It was also a lot of time to deal with other things, such as informing the local press about the true story behind the titans and the walls.
"So...is this real?" one of the journalists asked after he read the report from Grisha's books. His eyes were wide open and he looked at Hange and Levi with terror in his eyes. Other journalists were sharing his concerns, giving the Scouts doubtful looks as they were thinking that they were playing with them.
"It is," Hange said as she sipped on a tea prepared for them.
"How can we be sure that it's not some kind of cruel revenge for criticising your unit previously?" another journalist asked and frowned.
"Good that you admit that you were assholes for us," Levi said bluntly and sipped on his tea as well. "If it wasn't true we wouldn't be wasting our time on talking with you," he added, making journalists' faces turn red.
"I can't believe it," Hange huffed. "You have the biggest news in front of your eyes and you're still sniffing at it," she rolled her eyes. "Unbelievable,"
"We should've convinced the queen to order this job for someone else," Levi said and got up. Hange followed him, grabbing the report and they headed towards the door when journalists stopped them.
"Hold on, we didn't say we won't do it," one of them said as she stood up as well and reached with her hands for the report. "It's going to be printed tomorrow, I'll make sure of that," she smiled at them, but the gesture was only returned by Hange.
"Good, make sure to write something good about our unit as well," Levi grunted as he left the place. He didn't want to stay with those people longer than it was required. First of all, they were shitting on them for far too long for him to forget about it yet. And second of all, he wished to spend his time otherwise. With Sophie. He was running errands with Hange since early morning and it was starting to get on his nerves. He was like a starved man when his fiance wasn't next to him. He just wanted to hold her again and kiss her all over her body. He also wanted to make sure that she's alright. Ever since they learned about their family names he was worried that she was going to do something to herself despite their plans for the future. He was worried that she was going back to rely solely on drugs and alcohol. He wanted to make sure that his beloved was alright.
"Hey, I'm talking to you," Hange's voice snapped him back to reality and he looked at her with a question in his eyes. "I asked if you bought any ring for Sophie already?"
"Ring?" he asked confusedly. "Is that a thing?"
"Dumbass," she laughed at him, which he didn't like at all. "Of course it is. It's the symbol of engagement,"
"I thought that rings are gifted during the wedding,"
"Yeah, the wedding rings. Not the engagement ring,"
"It doesn't make sense," he shook his head. "You Above Grounders are making problems with the littlest things,"
"May I remind you that you're part of the Above Ground too now?" she chuckled and he let out a quiet growl which caused her to smirk even more, much to his displeasure. He didn't like when she was making fun of him, yet it was something he got used to after all of those years spent together in the military. It seemed that she was thinking about the same thing. "You really changed, Levi. Years ago you would hit me with something already," she pointed out and he couldn't disagree. "Anyways, suit yourself but I would buy it if I were you. We got a raise by queen's order, didn't we?" she said and sped up. She wanted to get back to the MP'S headquarters quickly too. Maybe she wasn't missing Moblit as much as Levi was missing Sophie, but she still wanted to see him and think about their plan for handling the whole Marley situation. If Erwin was going to listen to them, she thought glumly.
