Levi woke up with Sophie's legs and hands wrapped around him. She was like an ivy, entwined on his body, keeping him to herself. It felt amazing, having her body pressed so close to his own, seeing the serene look on her face with her lips curled up in a soft smile. It was heaven, his own personal paradise that he wished to last forever. His fingers brushed her cheek and put streaks of her hair behind her ear. So beautiful. His again. He was going to thank the gods for that for the rest of his life, that's how grateful he was that she was not only here, but because she was actually here - engaged in their relationship rather than hesitant and hostile towards the mere idea. She was utterly his - her heart, her soul, her body. All of that belonged to Levi. He could barely wrap his head around it.
He couldn't help but lean closer, breathing in her scent. His lips slowly skimmed on a sensitive skin behind her ear, going lower to her neck, getting drunk on just the thought of kissing it. He didn't do it, though. Not now. Not while she was asleep and so...fragile. It was the first thought that came to his mind when he had to describe her current state. Fragile. He kept on thinking about her burst out last night, how quickly she became excited for him and how easily she snapped, weeping and thinking he didn't want her. It left him with an indescribable feeling in his gut, the kind of one that was making a person concerned, unable to forget and move on. He wasn't able to erase it from his memory as easily as he did with the cruel words she said to him before. It wasn't easy because those words didn't belong to her. The real her. Alas, her face from last night belonged, it was her. His Sophie. He didn't know what to do about it yet. All he knew though was that he wanted to spend eternity in this bed with her or any bed, actually. The requirement was only one - she had to be by his side. Unfortunately, he had to get up. He promised Erwin to talk with him before dawn and it seemed like it was close to morning already.
He gently untangled their bodies, hoping that it wouldn't wake her up. He had luck, she was still sleeping. Was it because she could rest the best with him by her side? Probably, they were very alike and he couldn't sleep well himself either when she didn't share a bed with him. He fixed his shirt and hair before he quietly left the room and went to Erwin's. He didn't bother to knock, he never did. He didn't see a point in doing that right now either. He was sure Erwin wasn't in bed and he was right as he stepped inside and noticed him writing some papers. "Doing reports even in this shithole country?" He greeted him, causing Erwin to raise his head.
"Preparing letters to other nations," he explained and put the files on a desk.
"We don't even know yet if that bastard is going to help us contact them," he pointed out. He didn't really believe that Zeke was going to work with them. After hearing Eren's story about that terrifying vision of the future, he was sure of one thing - Zeke was very determined to achieve his messed up goal and it didn't seem like he was going to be easily convinced to abandon his ideals.
"But if he will, it's good to be prepared. We could send it right away without worrying that something would change his mind, don't you think?" He replied and Levi tried his best not to roll his eyes. "Tell me, how was it in Liberio? Did you have any trouble? It seems like you were out for a long time. Far too long for this ride, I believe," he said and encouraged Levi to sit in front of him.
"That place is creepy and sad," he said right away. "People there seem lifeless, no hope for better," he added. Although Erwin didn't ask him about it openly, he still thought it was something he would like to know about. He knew that Erwin was looking for allies everywhere and rebellion in the Eldian district of Marley seemed like something he would do.
"I see, he just said, his eyes flicking on the window and he got lost in his own thoughts for a brief moment before he looked at him again. "And getting inside? Was it as easy as we heard?" He was curious to find out about it. They had some pieces of information from Eren's memories, but since they already changed the events, it could affect the tiniest details in this timeline. Ah, he wished for Eric to return soon. He said his current travel was happening solely because of the mission to protect Eldians and the world from its doom.
