Arizona's POV:
It was my first day back to work, after a long vacation/holiday and I was having a difficult time focusing on my work. It's truly amazing how many emails you miss when you work at a hospital in just one day, let alone, an entire week's worth.
As I was sitting in my office and attempting to get my inbox to look somewhat more manageable, Teddy walked in and sat down.
"Is this a bad time, Arizona?" Teddy asked me, as she sat in one of the chairs on the opposite side of my desk.
"It's just as good of a time, as any," I responded back. "I'm having a tough time concentrating this morning, first day back after a vacation..."
"I understand that all too well, been there, had to push through that myself." Teddy was smiling back and nodding her head at the same time.
"How was your vacation by the way? I never heard back from you last week after the outing at Joe's, but figured you were busy with your family and with Callie in town."
"It went fine." I replied.
"Fine? Just fine? Really? Was it that bad? What happened last week?" Teddy asked, inquisitively.
"It was nice to spend time with everyone, but I think I'm just worn out and it was heart-wrenching to say goodbye to my parents and Sophia. I so rarely get to see the 3 of them." I let out a sigh as I spoke and then deeply exhaled.
"How did it go with Callie? Was it awkward to be under the same roof with her again?" As Teddy spoke, she began to narrow her eyes and tried to read my face.
"It was fine, it was nice to see her again."
"Two fines and a nice. I can't put my finger on it, but something seems different about you today. It almost feels like you are holding back something...spill it Robbins, what aren't you telling me?" Teddy started intensely staring at me, as if that would make me crack.
"Callie is going through some tough times at the moment, so she had a lot of raw emotions she was dealing with."
"What's going on with Callie? Are her and Sophia okay? Seriously Arizona, I can tell you are holding something back. I know you all too well after being friends for this many years. Whatever it is, just tell me already."
"Ummm, well, it's just that..."
Teddy's eyebrows had raised and I noticed she had moved forward in her chair, while tipping her head down.
"Callie and Penny have been having problems the last few months and Callie is at a crossroads currently with her career. Her hospital in NY and Dr. Webber just offered her Ortho Chief positions, respectively. I spent some of the week listening to her and trying to console her. In the process, it stirred up some feelings for us both. We ended up kissing one another towards the end of the week, when we were talking in the treehouse."
"YOU KISSED CALLIE? WHAT THE HELL ARIZONA?" Teddy was less than discreet with the volume of her voice.
It was now my turn to flash Teddy a stern look of concern and ask, "Any chance you could close my office door before the rest of the hospital hears you and not just this floor?"
"Sorry and yes." Teddy quickly closed my door and returned to her seat while saying, "I'm sorry for being that loud. You seriously just caught me off guard."
"Trust me when I say, this has caught me off guard. I absolutely love Renee and have so much guilt about that kiss. Not only did Callie and I kiss, but there were a few other moments we cuddled, or sat right up against one another when no one was looking. I don't know how to explain it, but the caring emotions and physical emotions we both seem to still have, were somehow enhanced this last week when Callie was so vulnerable."
