Arizona's POV:

Five days had gone by since Ari's car accident and she was still in a coma...

However, we were encouraged because her vitals, scans and reflexes all remained good. I hadn't said anything to Callie, but that morning of the fifth day, had planted some reasonable doubt in my head about her overall recovery. I had thought by now Ari would be making more visible progress, but that was just me hoping as a family member, and not a physician.

Meanwhile, Callie and Carlos had become zombies from their exhaustion. I had spent my fair share of time at Ari's bedside myself during her coma when Sophia was at school. I had even managed to convince Callie and her Father to leave one late morning to go home, while I watched over her.

Callie and I had already taken the week off for the Babymoon, so we thankfully had time to shift our schedules the following week too. It was easier for me because I had already decided, long ago, to step away from surgeries after the Babymoon and before I gave birth. With my pregnancy weight gain and my prosthetic, standing long hours had become grueling on my body.

It was Friday morning, sometime around 5 am when I heard Callie get up, shower and get dressed in our bathroom.

"Callie, do you have a second to talk with me before you head back to the hospital?" I scooted over a bit and made room for her to briefly sit next to me on our bed.

"Sorry Arizona, I was trying not to wake you." Callie sat down and I placed my hand on her upper left thigh as she talked.

"It's okay, I need to be up in the next half hour to get Sophia ready. I just wanted to hear your voice and give you a kiss before you left the house."

"Thanks sweetheart, I can definitely use some alone time with you, even if it is for only five minutes." I patted and then squeezed Callie's thigh, as she bent down and kissed my lips.

"How are you and the baby feeling this morning?" Callie was gently rubbing my womb with her right hand.

"As good as can be expected now that we easily get confused for a Blue Whale, or I feel like I should have a bumper sticker on my butt that reads, 'Caution, I Make Wide Right Turns.' Let's see, my back, legs and feet constantly ache, I feel the need to pee every hour and I'm beyond tired. Oh, and I know I've had it far better than most women, but I'm done with the heartburn. Especially when I get it from eating something as safe, as celery."

"Other than that, it's going fine." Callie bent down and kissed my forehead before saying, "So, just all the usual fun stuff, okay." She got close to my stomach and said, "Hey little one, be nice and go easy on your Mama the next 6 weeks, okay?"

We both laughed, as I said, "Fat chance that will happen, but they are worth it." I placed my hand on top of Callie's hand that was still resting on my baby protrusion.

"If this baby is anything like her Mama, then she'll always be keeping us on our toes!" I smirked in response to Callie's comment, as we were sitting/laying in the dim lighting being emitted from the bathroom.

"Sounds a lot like you Torres, and our daughter...!" I felt Callie lightly run her fingers across my sides in a mocking attempt to tickle me. I giggled, but not at her fake tickling, but rather, the conversation we had just shared.

"Hey, I didn't see her yesterday, but how's Renee holding up? Please tell me she's taking care of herself?

Callie had gotten up a moment ago to grab her shoes and than sat back down next to me to put them on. I assumed she was wearing her low casual shoes she loves. It's the type of shoe that isn't completely athletic, but still has softer athletic features. She wore that brand of shoe in several colors between work and our everyday life. At work, she always wore a navy color to match our attending scrubs.
