Some Wounds Never Heal

Arizona's POV:

After a long night of snuggles on the couch and watching TV as a family, Sophia was finally settled down after her playground accident.

Turns out a group of high school boys ran by her on the playground structure and one of them bumped into her without even knowing it. The collision is what caused Sophia to lose her balance and topple to the ground.

Blame it on their underdeveloped frontal lobes at that age, but teenage boys have no clue sometimes of their strength or any awareness of others around them. It ended up being a lesson for our daughter to always pay attention to her surroundings, because not everyone in the world was going to look out for her like her Moms would.

It was just after 8:30 pm that Friday night when we both heard Sophia start snoring. She had been laying across Callie's lap on the couch, watching TV and talking only minutes ago. The joys of being a kid and their ability to fall asleep in no time flat! When Sophia crashed, she crashed hard. We suspected after a busy school week and the stress from the fall, that she was wiped out that night.

"Arizona, I'm going to get her changed into her pajamas and to bed." Callie had gently and slowly stood up while holding Soph. "Any chance I can meet you two ladies in our bedroom in a few minutes?"

"Callie, I think that can be easily arranged. I just need to go change this little lady and tuck her in." I was holding Madelyn in my arms, but she too had fallen asleep on me about 15 minutes earlier.

"Time to divide and conquer then!" Callie was walking out of the media room, still holding Sophia, as she spoke.

I went to the nursery and changed my little cutie pie. She was so sleepy that she could barely keep her eyes open while I changed her diaper and put on a clean onesie. Still sleeping, I carried her back down the hall to our room and her bassinet. She immediately zonked out for a good portion of that night.

I quickly sprinted to the kitchen and grabbed the things I had purchased earlier that evening for Callie and myself. In record time, I set up a box of chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne. I also placed the bouquet of red and yellow roses I had hidden in the kitchen pantry, on Callie's bedside cabinet.

I turned on some quiet, but romantic music and dimmed the lights for effect. I knew I only had a few moments left if I was lucky, so I bolted into our walk-in closet to change into something sexier than my comfortable evening clothes for my wife. I still wanted to make things right between us after what I had done earlier that week by renting the condo without asking Callie.

I had just taken off my shirt and was only wearing my bra and a pair of stretch pants when I felt Callie's arms encircle around my waist from behind me. Callie pulled me in very tightly to her chest and started kissing up and down my neck and my shoulders.

"Callie, I hope that's you..." I struck a chord with her sense of humor, and Callie started giggling softly in response to me.

"Were you hoping for someone else, Dr. Robbins? Maybe that guy that overheard our conversation about sex at the park?"

Callie's laughing increased in volume ever so slightly after delivering her own comedic retort, but soon after, she went back to kissing and caressing me.

"I came in here to change into something a little sexier for you, but it looks like you caught me in the act, Dr. Torres."

"While I appreciate the thought, Arizona..." Callie had started speaking in short bursts in between kissing and caressing me, that was starting to increase in intensity. "...I'd rather see you wearing nothing at all."

I spun around to face Callie and started passionately kissing and touching her. Callie had begun taking off my clothes as she and I took off hers. In a flash, we were both naked, feverishly kissing but with our hands, also sensually touching each other. Callie removed her right hand from my butt for a moment and threw a blanket on the floor that had been folded on the shelf.
