Arizona's POV:

About a half hour had elapsed, but I hadn't heard from Callie yet, which was concerning. Meanwhile, in the treehouse, we had been watching TV while the three of us talked about various topics. We mostly let Sophia do all the talking and she regaled me with her adventures with Carlos and Aria the last two days.

While my chatterbox was going a mile a minute, Aria and I kept quietly looking towards the back of the house, both of us wondering what was going on within the walls of our home. I could tell Aria was just as concerned as I was, as we also were exchanging worried looks between one another.

"Aria, it's been a half hour and I haven't gotten any texts from Callie, have you?"

"No, which worries me too, Arizona. Callie has a temper, but I would think by now she would have said everything that needed to be said."

"I agree, do you mind keeping an eye on my munchkin for a moment? I'm going to go pop my head in and see what is going on." I had already started hugging and kissing Sophia before standing up. Soph giggled as I told the two of them I'd be right back.

I quietly opened the back door to the house, and stood just inside the kitchen for about 60 seconds to see if I could hear anything. The house was pretty quiet, so I decided to walk down the back hallway, towards our bedroom. As I got closer, I could hear the sounds of Callie crying, which I pretty much expected after her encounter with her Mom for the first time in 9 plus years.

I knocked as I slowly opened the door and said, "Callie, it's me. Can I come in?" I think she said yes, but it was hard to tell between her lack of breath and crying.

Callie was sitting in the middle of the bed, but on the edge of the mattress on her side. I sat down next to her on Callie's left side and put my arm around her. She immediately buried her face into my right shoulder and proceeded to cry even harder.

"Oh sweetheart, it's okay, go ahead and let it all out." We stayed in that position for several more minutes when I began to feel my shirt starting to get wet from Callie's tears. I got up and grabbed the facial tissues that were in our bathroom and hurried back to hold Callie again.

"Callie, do you want to talk about it or would you rather wait?" She nodded, which I took to mean she wanted to wait.

"Did your parents leave?" She nodded again, and I couldn't help feel a sense of relief that Lucia was gone. It was a shame however that Carlos had to leave too. I know Callie had been looking forward to having a family night with her immediate family that evening.

After a few more minutes, Callie's waterworks started slowing down and she managed to say, "Where's Soph? I feel bad she saw all that."

"She's in the treehouse with your sister, watching TV."

"So Aria is still here? She didn't go with my Dad and that woman he's married to?" I shook my head, no.

"She wanted to spend tonight with us and Sophia. She also told me that your Mother was only here for a few hours before we came home. She said most of your Mom's interactions with Sophia were rather awkward and that your Dad did most of the entertaining."

Callie mockingly laughed a few times, half smiled and shook her head a few times.

"Yep, that sounds like my Mother. The woman doesn't have a motherly or nurturing bone in her body. Growing up, I'd always go to my Father whenever I needed something, was hurt or sick, or just needed emotional support. Lord knows I never got much affection from my Mother. She was raised by a Father that didn't believe in coddling children and he never showed her love or affection. My Father claims this is why my Mother is the way she is. I personally think she's just a cold-hearted bitch. It's probably why she's one of the top attorneys in Miami."
